I suspect it's more to do with David Cameron wanting to look less of a prick even if it pisses his party off than her maj, sadly.

They still mispronounce Methane as Meethane. A cultural speech impediment.

No, a fairly fine tuned one. That was humor. They understand irony you see. It is rather ironic that they do, I should think. Not many of their relatives this side of the pond do.
