kittinSol -> Skinny or fat, is there an alternative? (6/28/2006 7:22:01 AM)

All this talk of fat versus skinny has made me look at myself and many other much loved ones with an objective view (yes yes, I can do it!). My conclusion is that the majority of us are fit, healthy, and neither skinny bones nor overweight.

There are alternatives :-)

It goes back to the age old verse, everyone wants to improve on something about themselves.  That is why plastic surgeons are a dime a dozen now.
There are plenty of alternatives for those who seek out alternatives.  Unfortunately many do not.

As for myself....there are things I don't like.  Though I can care less what anyone else thinks.  For the most part I am happy.

Exactly.

I believe there is an alternative. Quit buying into the flavour of the month in the media and concentrate on being healthy and taking care of ourselves inside and out. I think if we do that what others think begins to matter a whole lot less, I know it does to me.

There are choices and options yes. One could choose to eat unhealthily never lift a finger to help their health and stay in bad health, or one could take an active interest in preserving and helping themself healthy wise.

I just find the whole skinny, fat, in between and everything else discussion bullshit.
Its shallow and has got way to much forum time for my liking.

LaMalinche -> RE: Skinny or fat, is there an alternative? (6/28/2006 10:43:59 AM)

Right.

I was a fat kid. . . Weight Watchers at the age of eleven.  Yippie skippie.

I did not really lose weight until I was out of high school and in my first year of college.  Some find ths amazing.

I am not "heroine chic" nor am I overweight.  Yet because of adverts and commercials, I still worry about my weight/looks.

We are living in a society that says that thin is better.  Well, great.  I do not like my current weight, and I woud like to be thinner, but that also comes with the price of my periods stopping, my energy flagging, and moodiness.

I am at a good body/weight  yet society and pop culture says that I should be thinner.  Yet I have had play parteners state, "Go eat something".  And yes it make me feel like I am in a Kevin Kline film.

So it is a struggle between what society says men want, and what men actually want.  ( And you can replace the "men" with any gender or neutral)

Nope. And cool chick on bike piktur.

*purrrrsss*

As for the whole weight debate, I couldn't agree more missturbation, I started this because I was sick of it too :-)

It was tongue in cheek but I seem to have lost my knack at that... probably because my tongue is out too much of the time, either because of drooling with lust, licking with delight, or sticking plain rudely.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Skinny or fat, is there an alternative? (6/28/2006 11:26:10 AM)

Ditto that, kittinSol.  I am not really fat... well, OK, I have had a baby in me for eight months, so I am fat now... but normally I am just average and sometimes athletic.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Skinny or fat, is there an alternative? (6/28/2006 6:55:30 PM)

tc I do not listen to what those bmi charts and doctors say. You look quite nice as you are, and numbers can be misrepresentingly high.

Like take 300 for instance, you would think that at 300 pounds I would look very large and very flabby and I don't. Theonly part of me that looks very large from being overweight is my stomache and thighs.

Thinks it would be smart to not give My opinion on this as it's Just

Why did you feel the need to write that?  If you say something like that, you're obviously giving your opinion, just under the guise of not giving it.  Couldn't you have kept that bit of venom to yourself?

kittinSol -> RE: Skinny or fat, is there an alternative? (6/29/2006 1:55:29 PM)

A 'volatile' opinion? Hmmmmm... you got the wrong adjective. Perhaps you meant to say your opinion is 'controversial', or would be 'unpopular'? 'Volatile' means likely to take off in a huff of feathers rofl.

Perhaps you ought to say what you think: we are all here, eyes wide open, legs wide shut, ears at the ready.
