Hello,

I am looking for a sewing pattern for both a hobble skirt and a bondage skirt or something that can be easily converted. (my sewing skills are very rusty to say the least).  I am a BBW and it's hard to find easily convertable patterns.

Thank  you

A couple of ideas.

Try some costume shops.  contact local playhouses and see where they get their costumes.

A GOOD fabric shop will have 1/2 dozen very thick  books of patterns.

May take merging two or three.

Hint, make the sample out of cheap material and after you have it right then do it in leather or velvet or whatever you desire..

I was a sailmaker and made bdsm gear later for a commercial seller and still have a Pfaff commercial machine.

For quite sometime now, Ive been making "Play Cloths"for myself, as well as others I know. I as well do costumes for various events.  Id be more then happy to eventually start up my own little line of such things...Ive been told many times I really should.  Obviously, there is an intrest in it.  Only, I have no real idea how one would go about doing so.  So, for now, I just take orders from intrested people and work to design what ever it is they really desire, and flatters them.  If anyone has any idea or possibly address of some way to get into such a venture..Please, do let me know, Thank you....Blessings

I do a certain amount of sewing and fetish gear myself.

I might suggest doing some rough out patterns, by buying cheap bed sheets in thrift stores. Cut them up into the approximations of what you need, then pin them together carefully to fit-make your patterns of poster board, also oversized.

When I used to do custom gear for past girls, this was the method I used, fit and try. you would trim a bit off of the rough piece, then also remove it from the pattern-until it was right.

I think if you find a pattern for a 1950s pencil skirt, you could make it longer, remove the slit, and have a very serviceable hobble type skirt.  Several pattern companies still sell patterns for vintage type clothing.  If you do an online search, you will discover several places that sell vintage costume patterns.  If i can't find a pattern for exactly what i want, i look for a pattern that is very close and easily modified.

I've always make my own costumes, corsets. it's quite simple to draft yourself a pattern the skirt would be the easiet. You need to start with ur measurements, cut our a sample (like wise Caretakr suggested) and just keep taking it in untill it fits. it's very much the same making a corset, pull the tape message as hard as u can around ur waste, get ur bust and hip measurements (and measure the distance between these measurement) then decide how many panels u want and divide ur measuremnets by that
