The guy sounds like he is datable and not just looking for sex. He is 42, I am 49.

I thought we would meet 1/2 way at a park and go bike riding. What advice would you give me?

So far- he- has been up front- we got past the what do you do for a living thing- so yay.

He does not smoke- a huge plus. I deleted my ad- and told him so- I am interested in him. He lives about 40 miles from here- so figure an hour away.

We both own a house. I think his work hours are 9-5 like.

I am looking for date ideas that are- romantic- getting to know you type of thing.

I dont know if there is spark- but I like what I see so far.

He is piscies, and I am virgo. We are probably going to disagree on politics because on his facebook page it says to elect hilery.

He is recently divorced- which should mean he has not banged every gay guy in the valley.

Congrats...but take it slow... If he just is getting divorced, I am assuming he has not been "out" for very long. I think the best early dates are things that allow discussion but don't rely solely on it...museums, concerts, biking are all better than a lengthy dinner for two where you can't think of anything to talk about!

He is not out. He says tho that he is gay. He asked me if I was ok that he has 2 kids. I was sort of surprised by that. I do not mind kids.

I want to do this right- not have it a one night stand. He doesnt have the bad habits of the gay crowd yet. For not being out- he disclosed pretty much to me.

Good luck, hunky.

Dang, I look at how small the pool of gay/bi guys is compared to the pool of het/bi women - you gay guys have it tough getting a partner.

Well when talking to this man have you found out things about him like what kind of food he likes or what he likes to do in his spare time? If so then try to direct your date around such things. If he likes Thai food then take him to a nice, small, quiet Thai restaurant. Find a table in a corner. Talk about your lives, get to know each other. If it's not raining and it's warm outside, go for a stroll around town maybe.

Is it a daytime date? If so does he like to go antique shopping? Go to a small town that has a lot of such shops and make a day of it and eat at a little cafe.

These are the types of times I love to be with Master. It really brings us closer I think and just makes for a great quality time together instead of feeling rushed by life.

I was thinking it might be nice too find a pool- he might not like that tho- as he wants to lose weight.

I gave him my phone number and told him we will talk this weekend.

Just take it slow and easy. Sometimes after a marriage and divorce, a person can be confused and emotionally upset. Be a friend first and foremost. I have a LDR with a switch and a Dom. We message each other to make sure we're alive and how we are doing. The Dom encourages me with my issues and the switch is a listening ear when I need to talk. Will meeting each other happen? Who knows. I am devoted to taking care of the family, especially since Mom broke her right fibula back in May (she is out of the boot and starts PT on Tuesday).

I wouldn't suggest a pool. That's a little too intimate for a first date imo. Find something a little less......naked.

Summing up, the guy turned out to be a poor match and an SOB both at the same time. My sympathies, hunky.

I just thought I would mention I have up to 3 more dates. One hopefully today. The dude is moving to the street I live on. If there is spark- that would be GREAT. If not- friendship would be good too.

I am not sure how carried away I want to get with this.

2 guys want to date me today- one has not given me enough info- so I met the other one who is moving in on my street- I did not expect there to be spark- but OMG he never shuts up.

A 30 second answer takes 10 minutes.

He is. He would not make a good boyfriend. If he would let me talk some he could make a good friend- but every second of every day does not need to be filled with noise.

Oh gods...I can't stand a talker. Drains the energy right out of me.

That is why I avoid some folks.

If you're going for a bike ride in the park, I would bring a picnic. Casual, public so no expectations, but still very romantic.
