I've never been on ANY forum with such an idiotic feature. This forum (collarme) actually restricts the number of people you can contact, WTF is that all about. Seems to me they would want as much interaction as possible.

mnottertail -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:30:18 PM)

areyounuts?

jezzabelle -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:30:46 PM)

Do you mean on this side in the actual forums or the other side with the profiles?

ShaharThorne -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:31:47 PM)

You set off the filter when you sent too many letters to people who view them as spam. Get enough reports, the staff puts up the filter.

Quite simple really...

MsLadySue -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:39:23 PM)

This side, the forums, have nothing to do with the collarme profile side.
Try personalizing your messages to a select few people you really want to know better. Don't use a copy/paste generic message to the masses ... that's when the spam filter sets in.

areyounuts -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:47:42 PM)

Every message I send is personalized if the recipient has a name. I do NOT cut and paste the same message. Oh well, this is my third and last profile in three days. I'm out of here shortly.

searching4mysir -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:50:08 PM)

Dude, if you are setting off the spam filter in less than a day, the problem is with you, not the spam filter.

jlf1961 -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:53:26 PM)

Me thinks he doth protest too much.

jezzabelle -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 1:55:47 PM)

Whether you're cut and pasting or not, you are obviously sending out far too many messages in one day in order to set off the spam filter. The filters are there for a reason, to prevent scammers that like to mass email folks to try and get to as many people as possible. Why not narrow your search down more and only email folks that really interest you and take it from there. Finding someone isn't a race. Take your time.

Maybe they just don't want their users harassed by carpetbombing fuckwits.

Even if you don't cut and paste, if you're sending messages to people who report it as spam, it will trigger the filter. A lot of women on this site do that to people who ignore what their profile says they are looking for.

So, why did you burn through three profiles in three days?

The other two probably got locked by the spam filter as well.

FR,

This thread has been locked to give certain posters time to read their mail from me.

VideoAdminChi -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 2:32:37 PM)

Unlocked. Please take a deep breath before continuing.

LadyPact -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 3:05:02 PM)

Breathing easy.

OP, I'm just going to save the time and post this link for you. It was started by another screen name who also wanting to say that the spam filter "wasn't working" because it was preventing him from sending a bunch of mail that people didn't want.

I posted this on the other thread too:

A piece of wisdom which applies to the spam filter at CM, but also life in general: Just because it isn't working the way YOU want it to, doesn't mean it isn't working the way it's supposed to.

Apocalypso -> RE: Whats up with the "spam filter" (7/22/2013 3:54:16 PM)

I always wonder whether there is a statistical correlation between complaints about the spam filter and complaints about not getting replies.

One of your profile's has been here for over 7 years and you have posted to the forums previously, I suspect having been here that long you were aware of the spam filter. So creating additional profiles was to override the spam filter. Having read your profiles all that was there is complaining about the spam filter. I too would have chalked your mail up to spam more then likely as your profile is just plain whiny and complaining....
