What a trio of absolutely charming men. No doubt there'll be some growling at Scotland Yard that they weren't nabbed on home turf, but it's good that they've finally been nabbed.

Er, PS, I can't think of a hot political debate about this. Were you expecting arguments?

Nope. I just wanted to thank our Colonial Cousins for jailing the scumbags. I am sure similar groups operate on a World wide basis.

Hmmm, maybe I should.

hmmmm.. I expect that given their ages and how slick their operation was (spanning different countries I expect in an attempt to thwart the police) that this was far from their first scam..

I'm glad this happened, but it's a bit tougher to nail people who have done more damage than these fellows, if they work within a larger scheme, such as the banks.

My fondest hope is that this criminal pursuit is laying the ground work for much needed larger-scale pursuit of the US fraudsters, too.

Australia has brought charges of fraud against the rating agencies (Moody's, S&P, Finch), and then, amazingly enough, the US has brought even more serious charges since to the same group.

The US media give a onetime announcement on this, then we never hear anything further.

In any case, I don't mean to throw a wet blanket on this. It's good news, and some cause for a bit of cautious optimism in any event.

Thanks for the post.
