I never agree with Rush Limbaugh, but he still has an opinion, & his opinion is worthy. I usually agree with Al Franken, his opinion is also worthy. I think any opinion given in good faith, without malice is worthy of consideration. The opinions of bigots, hate mongers & the like are not worthy. I have seen plenty on the message boards I disagree with, but their opinions are still worthy.

I discovered years ago that when I am in my submissive headspace (not often anymore, believe me) if I feel the need to stand my ground with a Dominant (anyone really), if I don't take the time to find a tactful way to approach it, it interferes with my headspace. My submission works best for me when I am able to focus and use self-controll in my dealings with others. I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone... ~sigh~

Any thoughts?

Yes, you make sense, Calandra.
While everyone best collect their thoughts before speaking, focus, use self control -

I am learning that in a submissive headspace, my own emotions can be off keel blocking the flow, causing confusion to both parties. I'll act goofy. Go against my instincts, even.

Why? Fear of the unknown? Distrusting one's own judgement, heart. Realizing. Let go and have faith, focus, open energy. I am learning and think it is great people share real insight here in the madness.

Take care... [;)]

Attention....all opinions that agirl disagrees with are henceforth deemed unworthy.

It may be helpful to remember what are being expressed here are opinions. They have been compared to a bodily oriface, to say, everyone has one. I haven't seen any opinion more worthy then another.

As Carl Sagan said, "The well-meaning contention that all ideas have equal merit seems to me little different from the disastrous contention that no ideas have any merit."

Both Limbaugh and Franken can be spiteful, and they both can, and have, twisted things to suit their point of view. I enjoy them both, but weigh anything coming out of their mouths considerably.

And has anyone seen that Rush was detained for toting Viagra, without his name on the bottle? lol... ah, El Rushbo, best be careful............

You've mentioned two groups of people who's opinions you deem unworthy (bigots and hate-mongers).....which would be a matter of personal judgement.

Maybe it didn't cross your mind that they might be the very same *opinions* that *I* may not consider worthy.

OMG - (scratching her head). C'mon people - W/we're all just people with O/our own individual likes and dislikes - one is not better or worse than the next. And, just for the record, sometimes i get the feeling people take this BDSM pill that makes them forget common sense and common courtesy. As far as i know, personally, BDSM is based on mutual consent. If i didn't consent then i don't have to submit - that's my take for what it's worth.

As usual, examples out of the blue have sent this well defined thread into the toilet.  The OP had a very good topic that many people here have encountered.  I do not understand why a moron with three clothes pins, a rubber band, and a wooden spoon thinks that he has the right to intrude by giving orders or correcting someone he doesnt have a valid claim to.  The "kneel bitch" mentality by the undeserving does not deserve respect or even attention.  To me, correcting someone that you are not involved with shows an arrogance and utter contempt for submission and submissives.  Hopefully submissives will notice that stupidity and make certain that the issuer of improper commands and corrections wanders through life with a semi hard erection that never finds a home.

I used to tell people that there is a solution to this problem.  I call it the KARA solution.  When someone begins assumong power that was not earned or offered, simply tell them to Kiss A Rat's Ass, and end the dialogue.  KARA works nicely to heal the rip in the fabric of nature caused by an idiot.

edited to correct a spelling error... my seeing eye thumb must have been asleep.

On a totaly wild and wacky aspect of this, I was once banned froma chatroom and was informed that the authorities were being informed for animal cruelty because I used the expression: "Stone the bloody crows" a largish number of folks in the US seemed to think that I was advocating stoning crows.....
