ThatOneGamer -> Non-Local Doms, Sketchy Links (7/25/2013 2:01:34 AM)

I just had an online mistress contact me. I was ready to obey the commands given to me and learn more about the lifestyle ( am I'm still new and I guess in-training) She mentioned she wanted me to join 3 sites in order to show that I was her slave, which I promptly replied with a "yes ma'am" as I accept the mistress should be able show that I am her bitch. Now... when the link was given to me, it was through skype - which isn't a problem - however it was a bit.ly link. With the all inherent possibility that it could be scam and sending me to virus i promptly ended the conversation... Why would you use links that don't include the actual domain names and could possibly link to anything in the vastness of the WWW?

Don't do it. All "she" wanted to do was to get another sucker to join those sites for "her" commission. I'm too sleepy right now to go searching for them, but I'm sure some of the ladies will be along shortly to explain further. You were smart to not fall for it immediately. Stay that way and you'll go far.

She was using a non-descriptive link to lure people in, she didn't want to tip her hand as to what you were clicking on. It would have been a pay site.

A little tip, people don't become instant bitches. If you find a woman to be immediately interested in you be skeptical. If you decide to use the services of a professional or fin Domme, then don't choose one who is trying to be shady about it.

No offense, but your profile says "I'm new and have lots of fantasies and am willing to pay." Just shut your computer off and go to local munches and play parties.

I don't always agree with DarkSteven. But he's 100% on the money here.

I call these referral link scams, or member referral scams They work as he described off a commission system.

And/or find a reputable pro?

When I first joined, I was confronted with this obvious scam, & started a thread about it. To a greater or lesser extent, there's nothing you can do on another site, that you can't do on CM. If someone's trying to lure you away, after a shortish acquaintance, it's going to be a scam.

I would think though, that the people who get caught by these scams are those on here looking for a quick fix. Those looking for something deeper & more meaningful would not get sucked in.

As soon as they mention credit cards, run far & hide [:)].
