Is there an image or perhaps a poem that revives your spirit in times of stress, or brings you happiness every time you see/hear it? Please share it - thanks!

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home... The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.

I'm convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in change of our Attitudes.

In so many words...why I have semi-retired to a life of pleasure. Couldn't lay around as they say and do nothing but all kinky sex...all of the time. As much assisted by seeing just how very, very small this world is.

I love seeing the 'faith restored in humanity' pics, they always make me smile and tear up. There's a lot of good out there but is so easy to forget when you don't see it.
I just saw this on Facebook and it made me feel a little better. Usually, I take this approach. Sometimes, though, I get so wrapped up in a huge problem, I forget to take a break.

A psychologist walked around a room while  teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of  water, everyone expected they'd be asked the "half empty or half full"  question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how  long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold  it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my  arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass  doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She  continued, "The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of  water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about  them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them  all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything."

It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the  evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through  the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature.

FR

I'm not sure what it says about me that the first thing I thought when I saw this link on Facebook was, "This would be a great Collarme thread!"

One thing that helps when I think to do it is naming whoever and whatever I'm grateful for. When I was going through radiation, trying to lie still while techs spent forever making minute adjustments to my position, I had a hard time quieting my mind. I finally hit on the thought of using the time to make a gratitude list. Strange as it sounds, it became a soothing daily ritual. And I soon noticed that the session ended before my list did!
