You are still smoking in illegal substance, regardless of who knows it or not. If you were to raid a gub'mint pharmacy for medications you need, is that an act of civil disobedience, or is it simply breaking the law? According to the Fed's, medical marijuana isn't legal, Rx or not.

ummm... yes, I know its illegal and as I said, its not gonna change no matter how some people want to believe its different now cuz Obama is Prez or whatever.. I have talked to various people about this and I cant believe how naive they are about this issue..

Well your wrong to think it doesn't violate someones rights. Cause I higly doubt that every voter voted for it to be legal. The way I saw it was pretty close. Do I have a problem with it no. But the family across the street with kids might when they start breathing it in.

http://www.examiner.com/article/dea-raids-seattle-on-medical-marijuana-shops-what-s-wrong-with-this-picture I feel the Federal Government has overstepped its bound's here. Marijuana for both Medical and Personal is perfectly legal in Washington State. Yet, Marijuana in any form is still illegal under Federal law. So the question is, where is the "line in the sand" drawn when it comes to the Federal Government deciding to ignore the laws of a state, which was voted in by the voter? Unlike old "Jim Crow" laws of the South, where there was a need for Federal Government intervention. Here, no one's Human Rights are violated by the State. If anything, its the Federal government violating someone's Human Right's. Plus, what a complete waste of tax dollars being used here in a state where something is perfectly legal.

Thanks for posting.
This is nothing new. The Fed has been doing this for a long time, even where it's legal locally and in the state. We are too stupid and propagandized to stand up to them, so they'll continue to do it unfortunately.
Billions have been spent hurting people who have done absolutely nothing to harm anyone. Millions are in jail in the USA for smoking or growing this plant. Hundreds of thousands of sick people are denied medicine, in many cases the only medicine that gives them relief, or gives them a chance at recovery.
It's disgusting but we get what we demand, and currently, most of us aren't demanding anything change.

I wonder how many employees in those stores voted for Obama ?

Just what the hell does that have to do with anything ? Either we have a 10th amend. or we don't ...or, the Naziazation of our 535 cowards on cap. has excised their backbone enough not to reign in the storm troopers.

Oh I know, since we can see...how different this president is, was he to be unlike like his oh so brave predecessors, supposed to direct the DEA not to bother with this ?

Obama, being the good socialist he is is protecting workers. The workers on the boards of big pharma are terrified of tpeople discovering that you can grow medicines in the ground.

When do socialists protect a profit ? After all, that's what it amounts to. I don't care to read this shit...we went through the same thing with morphine back in the day and had something like 30,000 doctors in jail for dispensing it to WWI vets and other victims of pain.

I don't know of a single American 'worker' for big pharma that would pay with his job because of these pot laws. Plus it's irrelevant anyway because there is a 10th amend. and ALL rights not....not to mention that all jobs are incidental in capitalism and are never a priority in for-profit America.

Most,if not all pothead's I know don't do that. Maybe a few might but that is an exception, now the rule. Personally, I'd be more worried about the guy doped up on legal pain pills and goes whacko.

Maybe I'm being naive and idealistic, but I don't understand why the federal government wouldn't legalize marijuana, then tax and regulate it like they do with tobacco and alcohol. Rules regarding production and sales, including a minimum age limit to buy or use without a doctor's prescription, and specific laws against driving under the influence. Is the influx of money from keeping it illegal really greater than the tax revenue they'd get and the money they'd save in law enforcement costs?

Theoretically people could grow their own pot and avoid paying the tax, but 1) the savings from not prosecuting would still be there and 2) I don't think most casual users would bother. If pot was legal, I'd use it on occasion, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of growing it; I'd buy it at retail. Just like I could make my own wine at home or look around for friends and neighbors who do and would sell or share, but it's not worth it when I can just go to the supermarket once a month or so and pick up a bottle.

Charles6682 -> RE: DEA raids legal Medical Marijuana in Washington State (7/26/2013 3:54:20 PM)

Florida has talked about legalizing Medical Marijuana. Florida is also the "Pill Mill" Capital of America. People already come to Florida to from other states to get pain pills here. Luckily, Florida is finally cracking down on that. But when the vote comes to legal Medical Marijuana here, what's really worse? The "Pill Mills" or someone using Medical Marijuana?

Good thing states are starting to finally realize the error, waste of Law Enforcements resources and waste of taxpayer dollars. Too many people are still suck on the "Reefer Madness" era. The "Reefer Madness" Special Interest groups that would hope weed stays Illegal are slowly losing. There is a lot of money involvedfor th ese Special Interest group to keep this Illegal and for all the wrong reasons. People are starting to see through the smoke and mirrors. Like Bill Maher, pot has become the new Civil Rights issue. Too many non-violent people are having their lives ruined over this bogus "war" to keep certain peoples profits soaring.

As always, people have a STAUNCH, "valid" opinion before the facts are on the table.

These "medical" agencies have been well known in the Seattle area for distributing (outside of their license) over the last 2+ years.

So they took them out.

I purchased pot, without a license from one of the places that got the hammer sent down just 12 weeks ago ("I promise I'll bring one back next week....my back is killing me"). I wasn't the one who called the DEA but, they never even asked for my DL or card.

Follow the rules, sell some (legal) dope and all is well :)

300 dispensaries, for the record....did not get busted.

Nor will they.

Outside of their license?
