In a welcome break from the serious stuff that's demanded my focus a lot lately, I wiped my mind clean and dove into adorning my apartment door for the building's Americana decorating contest. It was a heaven-sent release. And I won! Sorry the photo isn't better. Phone camera; dark hallway. The white pages are PowerPoint slides containing verses from "America the Beautiful" accompanied by pertinent images. I'd originally planned just to hang the slides, but I soon realized that wasn't enough. So I added the flags, hand-made paper ribbons, and bows. Not sure I want to know what it says about me that I had all that stuff handy at ten on a Thursday night! Thanks! The prize is 200 bucks off next month's rent, which is great. Even greater was the creative release. For hours last night, my mind was joyously clear of gray clouds. [:)]
