I usually suffer through the pain for a day, never taking them off because it hurts so much worse to put them back on.
When I get home, I immediately take them off (sometimes throwing them in the closet like a petulant child) and "forget" about them for some time. Once I've forgotten the misery they put me in, I go through the whole ordeal again until finally, that glorious day when there is no longer any pain.
By that time, I see a new pair of shoes that spark my interest.
I feel for you.
