The local Sheriff's department continues to arrest gay men for the crime of being gay. Truly disgusting.

If this wasnt homophobic then the Sheriffs should have been trying to entrap everyone who was seeking to hook up for a date. The notion hetrosexuals dont meet one another in public places is absurd.

Status: offline 		I'd say about $1 million per false arrest, straight out of the Sheriff's pocket sounds fair.

Louisiana would also be the state where a local yokel JP recently refused to marry an interracial couple decades after the USSC ruling in Loving struck down those laws.

District Attorney Hillar Moore III said his office refused to prosecute each one of the cases because his assistants found no crime had occurred. Maybe enough of these cases will pressure the legislature to take the law off the books.

They did.

The repugnant thing about this is there are a lot of unconstitutional laws remaining on the books. Most legislatures don't bother repealing them when they are over turned. This Sheriff is doing this strictly out of spite.

Status: offline 		Wait, does this mean the planter's son could have his slaves back ? There could be a state that hasn't repealed those laws. We'll...there could be. I mean in America, bigotry could be a profit center, let's see.

I don't know though, let's think about that one. The Chinese do pretty well and have to support themselves. Even Adam Smith (Wealth of Nations) said freeman labor...was cheaper than owning slave labor. Then there are the Vietnamese and Indian too. Gotta be 1/3 of the world's population...cheaper than owning slaves.

How about say ya'know accounting for inflation...$50 a vote ? The feds won't be checking up on them anymore. I think we need to rethink all of this seeing has how such laws could still be on the books.
