I have recently entered into a Daddy Dom type of relationship with a girl my age who I have known for 10+ years. She is in a bad place in life and needs a mentor to help her get things together. I have always had a good head on my shoulders and she looks up to me because I am successful. Anyway, she half jokingly and half seriously calls me "Daddy" when I help her out, give her advice, etc etc. I have no idea how to respond to that!! What do you call your little??

He calls me by name.

Just as a side note: I don't believe that becoming involved in a D/s relationship because someone is in a bad place and needs a mentor is a good reason to have that relationship or is healthy.

It's ironic because it was an old girlfriend of mine that identified me as a daddy.

I don't know if she was "holding back" but there didn't appear to be any "need" in her other than the need to be in a relationship with a person to whom she could give herself; someone she trusted, respected, cared for, enjoyed pleasing, etc.

I never called her anything but her name or "Baby" which, to be fair, was something I had called any number of ladies before then.

Now, since I have come into this lifestyle, "Baby" has become something special that has a particular meaning so, I find myself calling ladies that don't fall into that special category, "darlin'" or "sweetheart".

Peace,

Michael

You might want to mention that in your profile. A daddy who doesn't acknowledge his little girl can cause emo type turmoil and if she is already in a bad space, it could keep her pushed under.

How does it make you feel? Do you like it? Cringe? Glow? Figure that part out and then just go with that energy and see where it leads. No races around so feel free to take your time and explore your feelings. This is all new and if you try to go too fast you might miss cool stuff along the way.

I don't have one but if I did, it would be either her name or, perhaps, baby. I tend to use baby a lot with those I love. D/lg was something which Himself and I explored a few years ago but it didn't take for me. I'm not a little, don't play one on tv and I just wasn't in that space and doubt I was even when I was a real little girl.

That said, the Mommy/lg dynamic has become more and more appealing to me and my mind keeps going back to it and I think it's something I'm probably going to explore in the future when I feel like I have all the tools in place to make it work. I don't want to break any hearts and most certainly not the heart of a little so I want to be pretty sure before stepping on what would be a very divergent path for me.

I'm up to emailing on the other side if you want. Two folks just chatting about a new exploration they are curious about or undertaking. Two minds and all that!

He's my Daddy but I don't identify as a "little" in the young girl sense. He mostly calls me baby girl, baby or sweetheart. Sometimes he calls me by name, but not often. I mostly call him Daddy, but sometimes Mister, Captain, or by the Spanish version of his name.

~FR~

When mine calls me Daddy, I usually respond with "my boy" or "sweet boy." I've used "little one" before, but very rarely, it's not one that resonates with us. Experiment, try stuff out, see what gets the best reaction from both of you.

Go with what feels right and natural when you say it, or hear it said to you. Calling you 'Daddy' has less to do with your age, and more to do with the fact that she probably feels safe and protected when she's around you. If you are identifying with the daddy dom, embrace it.

Funny, I love "lilone."
That was there prior to mouse.

(And purely tangentially M-I've seen you at Crucible-You don't look like any Daddy I ever saw before)

But old chestnuts such as slut, cunt, darling-yeah, they work until the name finds itself.

You know just about everybody I've ever met has terms of endearment she likes being called and others she doesn't like being called, as well as lists of who she likes being called which by. One woman likes "dear", another hates it. One likes "baby",another can't stand it. One likes "slut", another will rip your throat out for it.

I'd suggest the best person to discuss this subject with is the subject of the discussion.

He calls me "My love". I call him "Honey" or "Sweetheart" depending. And sometimes rat and evil bastard.

I'm a new breed. ~grins~ Since I can't see your face to know whether I've seen you in return, I'll just say "hi neighbor!"

Edited to make it relevant:

One of the reasons "little one" doesn't resonate with us is because he's 16 years older than me, and a "grown ass man" (to use the common vernacular), and while I'm definitely his Daddy, he's not my little. So for us, we tend more toward the leather terms - Daddy and boy, not Daddy and little one. I've met those for whom little one resonates, and they are delightful, that's just not who I'm with right now. ;) It all comes down to finding the term that makes him/her quiver.
