I'm not sure about you all, but I've only been on here a week and I've had quite a few member on here be extremely rude to me. Anything from calling me a "loser" for "not responding fast enough" to being called an "inbred cow" and told to get a job. What is wrong with people? I haven't done anything to them to warrant such disrespect. Does anyone else have any of the same problems?

Jealousy, Ophelia. Jealousy and insecurity.

I can't tell you how many times I've been insulted in response to innocent things like "Hello, how is everyone?" or "Has anyone seen {such and such} movie?"
When people are feeling lousy they want to spread that feeling out any way they can, and by far the easiest is by being lousy themselves.

You can also factor in misogyny, heterosexism, or even depression into it. But at the end of the day you just have to smile back and say "I'm sorry, I can't help you with your social problem!" and move on.

Nasty people like that really aren't worth dwelling on.

Not only are you on the New Member list (I think this last for about a month), but you've said the magic words in your profile guaranteed to bring out the ire in quite a few people - "pay piggies" and "financial domme."

We have several active threads about this - checkout:

I always consider it ironic that someone who refers to other human beings as "Pay Piggies" should whine about rudeness.

it's a big mean world princess. If you let things like that get to you, what's going to happen when you face real problems?

Don't allow them to ruffle your feathers, just hit BLOCK and move on to the next letter. You are definitely unique, there are a lot of people who appreciate individuality. I find there are far more NICE/FUN people to converse with on here than there are badmouth idiots, so stick with it. Eventually, when you've gained enough experience you'll find even the idiots can be a source of entertainment. Personally, I love that I affected them so much they lost control of their urges and just "HAD" to write, and then after all their effort to compose their message I don't even bother to respond. It's actually been a few months since I got anything worthy of blocking. Everyone writing has been on good behavior lately.

Good luck in your search!

I'd also delete the bit on your profile about ignoring rudeness. That shows that they are getting to you. Don't even give them indirect attention.

I don't usually let things like this get to me, I've dealt with MUCH worse, and to my face. I was mostly just curious if anyone else else has dealt with this on this site. This is the only site I've ever encountered any problems.

And I don't refer to ALL human beings as pay piggies. Just my slaves. I would NEVER refer to some as a pay pig if they weren't one. That's like saying a dom referring to EVERYONE as their bitch or their whore. It's a term reserved for those who want to that title. :)

It happens to fins, pros, non-pros ... we've all had rude messages for various reasons. I doubt it is specific to this site. Ignore them, stick around, join in the forums, have fun.

That isn't what is widely reported on all the other major BDSM sites.

This is an unfortunate side effect of being a woman and joining a site like this. It's a result of a peculiar medical condition known as "Male Complete Lack of a Life Syndrome" (MCLLS). The side effect that all women become victims of is called the "Insult All Women Who Are Unlikely to Ever Have Sex With You Effect." (IAWWAUEHSWYE) {Which category, of course, includes ALL women.}

Unfortunately there is no known cure for MCLLS and nobody is engaged in research trying to find a cure. Some men grow out of it by turning off their computers, getting jobs, moving out of Mommy's house and finding real life friends. Some don't.

There is, however, good news for women who suffer from IAWWAUEHSWYE. One piece of good news is that the effect lessens with time, as the victim moves off of the "New Members" list. And, even better, there is a treatment. It's called, "Block and Delete".
Fortunately, there is hope for female victims of it's

The unfortunate result of the above syndromes in males is SRS - or "Semen Retention Syndrome". It seems to bring out a lot of hostile feelings in males that suffer from this syndrome.

This can happen anywhere, to anyone, on the net. Its unfortunate, but that's what happens when certain people can hide behind their computer screen.

I stopped reading the comments at the end of news articles for this reason. Some people are rude just for the sake of being rude.

"Semen Retention Syndrome".

Brilliant! Trademark it soon.

ETA: Now I'm having visions of some has-been celebrity hosting the SRS Wankathon on TV!

Actually, it's ESPS, Excessive Semen Production Syndrome. Most such guys don't retain it. It only takes one hand to type hate email. The other hand takes care of the retention problem.

~FRing it~

It will unfortunately happen. Some people can develop a big set of brass bull boulders when they have the anonymity of the Internet to hide behind just like they hid (or still hide behind...pause to shudder and maybe think of Norman Bates and his) mommy's skirt. Fuck 'em. Life is too short to waste precious seconds on rude jackasses like them

Getting rude/crazy/memorable/hilarious messages is common. Don't forget to share any you get that are particularly entertaining:

That sucks. There's nothing smaller than abusing someone over the net. If those people were standing in front of you they wouldn't say a fucking word, you know it and they know it.

I'm curious is it always men? I hear women can get shit for simply politely declining an email. And that's on vanilla dating sites as well.

I have never had anyone just email me and insult me, just call me an idiot for a comment on a forum from time to time.

I doubt most men have to put up with crap like this. But most men probably get completely ignored, which is the other side of the coin.
