Status: offline 		Oh yes, you Americans are supposed to be real scared. They are still out there and maybe right around the corner...anywhere.

So we institute a world-wide alert just in case. We'll close all of our embassies down for a day to show you we mean business, just in case you were no longer really, really scared.

That's the first mission...have society scared and particularly about attacks anywhere...anytime. That way, you keep them occupied, compliant in any further usurpation of power, expanding their monopoly as we type.

This is one more feather in the cap of the govt's. counselors next arguing for drones all over your neighborhood but...for YOUR own and your family's protection. That's the NSA program too, they're everywhere...watch out.

No Rodgers, you're crazy. This could be very real and...yes it could be. The trouble is we just don't know and now, wouldn't put it past our govt. for putting on this kind of show.

Maybe it is to pacify the sheeple that we're being watched "for our own good". Anytime I think of the layers of secrecy the Govt operates within, it makes me want nothing more than to go become a hermit somewhere.

Well by getting out now and then, I don't think I qualify as one. But I did want to quit work, that turns out not to be the case as I rediscovered a very small world, old friends that now want to get into business. Don't know that I could sit still anyway.

Since you would blame the White House for anything and everything. Heck it could rain on your birthday, and you would blame President Obama for it! Thinking I'm being to harsh with you? Try to imagine how much you would yell and shout if those embassies had remained open and were attacked. Is it lower than your current 'junior high school' attitude problem? No, then I guess the White House did something intelligent and wise....

We simply don't need to have embasseys in every single country in the world.
In third and fourth world countries they serve as outposts for foreign aid and even more immigration to the U.S.
Just like any other part of our govt. the state dept wants to get bigger and bigger and have a bigger budget and more employees every year.

On the contrary. It is the fact that these occur with some regularity and for longer than the past two admins. And only now do we get these world wide travel alerts with embassies closing and having congressional hearings. So no, I wouldn't be yelling and shouting for anything except in some cases, reductions in budget means lower security.

The problem is that I don't believe our govt. Too many people killed, to much secrecy, too many cover-uos and a little too anxious over people doing nothing really more than exposing diplomatic dirty laundry and the extent to which your govt. is...spying on your own citizens.

Where do get that I am conservative and that I have blamed everything on Obama when in fact have been taking the right and Bush's two terms to task for most of our problems. My problem with Obama is that he is no different...following the neocon script almost to a T.
