It just means you should have a week or two's worth of groceries, spare batteries, maybe a generator and fuel. I stock up on beer, smokes, and other luxuries so when my neighbors run out I can make a buck or two. A couple of thesehelp out too, especially when the grid goes down. Which happens more often lately because no one's putting any investment into it. They're nice because you can run 'em indoors (but have a CO detector in any event). Also, I've got an independent power supply I charge with my generator so I can keep it inside at night while I watch TV or movies. Stuff like that is second nature around here.
