Given the recent explosion of shows on History Channel and Destination America about hunting mysterious creatures I thought this would be interesting.

So how many of these animals do you believe exist or still exist/

Hillwilliam -> RE: Gryptozoology poll (8/7/2013 6:25:23 AM)

I'll give the most credence to the giant snakes but if you had said longer than 35 feet, I'd have to have said none of the above.
I think a big female anaconda might hit a bit over 30.
You may want to add this critter to your poll as there are numerous unconfirmed sightings and it's a quite recent creature as in the aboriginal Aussies and it probably ate each other. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalania .

Thanks hill, added and I fixed it for multiple selections.

I must believe in unicorns, or I wouldn't bother with this site. [:D]

It's "Cryptozoology" with a C.

igor2003 -> RE: Gryptozoology poll (8/7/2013 7:03:11 AM)

Living in the Northwest, I checked bigfoot. Yeah, yeah...go ahead and laugh. I just feel that the stories have been around for hundreds of years, and that there must be something to them. The vast majority of videos and other "evidence" these days is definitely either hoaxed or wishful thinking. But there are a few things that do seem to have some legitimacy to them.

And I might have checked one or two other items on your list, but for me it was still only allowing one vote.

DesFIP -> RE: Gryptozoology poll (8/7/2013 9:37:23 AM)

It wouldn't let me hit multiple selections.
I think both the Loch Ness monster and Champs of Lake Champlain exist but are actually large sturgeon.

But giant snakes and spiders begs the question of 'how big is giant'. Since they come in all sizes.

MasterCaneman -> RE: Gryptozoology poll (8/7/2013 10:12:09 AM)

I picked Bigfoot mainly because there's a lot of native history backing it up as well as some credible reports. That being said, there are also a ton of fakers out there who've polluted it with bogus sightings, films, and evidence. But I can see a humanoid biped being able to live largely undetected, especially in the Pacific Northwest, and other still densely-wooded areas around North America.
