There seemed to be just one important oversight: In going up to 47 floors, designers forgot to take into account room for an elevator shaft. El Pais reports that the architects on the project resigned in May 2012.

The building has cost €100 million so far.

I gotta laugh.... a classic!!

But they could install one of those "external" glass ones couldn't they?
Not so sure I'd wanna be on the 47th floor with my shopping in a glass elevator though.
I think I'd be needing bicycle-clips!!

Make it a feature instead of a bug. They could market it as a breathtakingly (!) bold effort to improve and maintain residents' cardiovascular health through encouragement of regular exercise.
