Why dont you send the fracking water back down the pipeline that carries the oil? You have the infrastructure.

You could do that as long as the pipe is rated for whatever you're pumping through it. Fresh water probably wouldn't be a problem but salt water or chemically treated water might be. Then you have to consider any issues with contaminating the oil you put back through it and coordinating the oil/water traffic. You might save some money but you also wouldn't make any progress on the issue of fresh water supplies.

well, they are talking about desalinated water for defracking, and I cannot believe if they are using it to get the oil out, that coming back it is gonna be contaminated..........

I'm assuming you're talking about the oil being contaminated because obviously the water would be. But you're right. If you're starting with desalinated water (which I'm basically calling fresh water) it shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, I work in/around fracking. There has been a lot of pushback from EPA concerning re-used frack water. Many pressure-pumping companies are trying to find an EPA-acceptable and economically viable way to do it. Here in Ohio, where I work, water availability has been a big issue for us.

I have no idea whether or not that was faked. Neither do you. You accept it as face because you saw it in a "documentary". I have seen too much fraud in "documentaries". What I am familiar with are the tremendous safeguards taken to prevent that sort of thing, and the sheer physical near-impossibility of it happening in the first place.
