Totally different topic. And a position I am not going to change about. That was in reference to a tweet and not to stats provided by the FBI.

Kirata -> RE: Bored in Oklahoma (9/5/2013 10:33:57 AM)

Hey, no offense. I realize how fashionable it is today to gin up arguments fomenting race hatred against whites, and how important it is to some people that they be perceived as stylish.

This discussion is not about me. It is about bigots who try to use bullshit numbers to pimp their bigotry

I agree, and I'm glad to see that someone finally had the cojones to be candid about it.

So in spite proof to the contrary you are going to pretend that suspect means the same as assume?
Typical
This means that you believe that A + B = 58 when A = 66 and B= a positive because to stand by your alleged stats that is what you have to believe.
And what is so horrible about saying that all hate crime is despicable not just white hate crime.
Not so much you but thompsonx cannot see past white hate crimes which is what made it necessary to point out the higher rate among blacks
Nobody is stupid enough to claim that the 12% of the population commits more of any crime than the 63% that is white but people like thompsonx need to understand that we have to deal not with white hate crimes (or black hate crimes) but hate crimes period. Much as you may hate to hear it that is my position and that is the unbiased opinion.

It was closer to the thread topic than thompsonx trying to lay all the blame for hate crime on white people when anyone should be able to see that the blame lay not with the races but the individual RACISTS who commit the crimes.

And when someone comes along with proof to the contrary, you and your buddy K decide to toss a conniption fit. How dare anyone point out the truth. How dare anyone cast any aspersions on white people. How dare anyone come up with concrete numbers to prove the lot of you wrong.

Well, I dared. I didnt agree Thompson was completely right. And I damn well wont agree that you or K are completely right.

There's only one problem with that theory. There are many people who believe that it is impossible for a member of a minority to be racist. They can be bigoted, but they change the definition of the word 'racist' so that minorities aren't allowed.

Quoting figures that say 66% of hate crimes were committed by whites, and only 20% by blacks, says nothing about the rates of offending. In fact what those figures tell us is that blacks offend at 174% the white rate. It's called arithmetic, in case anyone is ignorant enough to wonder. And your ugly rantings about "truth" are bullshit.

When your "opinion" is founded in lies, it is a lie.

So earlier when I said suspect and you pretended 3 times that I said assumed you were lying?

Suspect + Assume = Synonym........ I can never understand why people without a grasp of language continue to argue over it. It is much the same as those that can`t or won`t grasp simple maths.

sus·pect

verb

verb: suspect; 3rd person present: suspects; past tense: suspected; past participle: suspected; gerund or present participle: suspecting

/səˈspekt/
1. have an idea or impression of the existence, presence, or truth of (something) without certain proof.

"if you suspect a gas leak, do not turn on an electric light"

synonyms: have a suspicion, have a feeling, feel, (be inclined to) think, fancy, reckon, guess, surmise, conjecture, conclude, have a hunch; suppose, presume, deduce, infer, sense, imagine; fear

"I suspected she'd made a mistake"

(assume isn't there is it?)
as·sume

/əˈso͞om/

verb

verb: assume; 3rd person present: assumes; past tense: assumed; past participle: assumed; gerund or present participle: assuming

1. suppose to be the case, without proof.

As you can see, they are not synonyms. It would be nice if those who berate others for their grasp of the language knew fuckall of which they speak.

Argue with the dictionary if you want.

To suspect something is to think it is likely or probable.

To assume something is to believe it is true.

If you don't know the difference between likely and true, go back to second form or whatever the heck you call it.

Lol, it never is when the usual suspects feel the holy 2nd is again under siege.... Cos THAT'S the real topic here, as the body count rises unabated in the US.

Some 1400 Syrians get gassed and the US prepares to go to war. Some 30,000+ Americans die every year from guns, too many of them innocents and their deaths as insanely senseless as the Aussie of this topic, and the US goes "meh"....

Errrm, hi to everyone! [:)] Drive-by's are sorta fun.... [8D]

Actually, this thread has fuckall to do with the Second amendment but let's not stop those who are too lazy to read from spouting their own brand of propaganda.

For chrissakes, it's a gun thread - and yet another senseless murder by gun in the US. Of course this topic is ultimately about the precious 2nd, with all the usual defenders championing the cause.

Now go find some rookie to pick on, you're shooting blanks here. [;)]

No, it's a racism and hate crime thread. They DO teach reading comprehension in Oz don't they?

You're making shit up again. This thread has nothing to do with the Second Amendment. And the "body count" in America has been falling for two decades despite increased gun sales and the number of states allowing concealed carry going from 16 to 41. Find another tune to sing.
