Status: offline 		It's been niggling me since forever, we had a lovely teacher at school and instead of taking in the lesson, I'd sit there dreaming about her keeping me in a large cage (big enough to walk around in).

I would love to hear if anyone has experience of long term incarceration (more than 1 day), how it actually felt. I have read quite a few articles on this over the years and it seems to be a mixed bag. Quite a few people said they became quite bored in the periods in between interaction with their Domme/Dom. Quite a few also said they found inner peace and found the experience life affirming.

I know these questions can be very subjective as the manner and circumstances of experience will greatly vary but I'd love to hear of peoples experience with this, positive or not. Did you become scared, did you find sub space? I have the chance to try it out for 2 days if I'd like. Am tempted.

Status: offline 		Two days isn't really long term. It's roleplay for a weekend.
What about getting to use the bathroom?
Is it large enough for you to move around in or are you going to be unable to move at the end?
Are there a team of tops taking turn staying awake in case there's a problem. If the house catches fire, you need to be released quickly.

What if you really can't hack it and have a panic attack? Is a safeword going to be honored?

And have you been in it for a few hours yet? Why not start by trying it for a short period and see if you're okay with it or not?

Status: offline 		Hi DesFip, thanks for your response. I would only enter this if I felt it was with a safe and sane person, so things like going to the bathroom or being released if I were to become genuinely distressed, would be a given.

It would be big enough to walk around in and lie down. I haven't seen it yet but your advice to try it out a little at a time is good.

No, i'm not ridiculing the OP or the apparent naivete. Long-term (>24 hours) incarceration is a bitch...simply and literally. Oh, many "think," "dream about," "wank over," the internalized concepts oe may have developed (via stories, videos, blogs, forum posts, etc.), it is and i dare say is intended to be "a bitch."

Look, bondage only becomes so AFTER one wants release...otherwise, it's just "play acting."

Prepare to be bored out of your mind, uncomfortable in the least (depending upon the situation)...though you may have some 100+ square feet to move around in...picture pissing/shitting in a bucket and having to smell it...hopefully, you'll get fed...water? probably but it may well be tepid at best...oh, and don't expect a "bed" (though one might be provided)...more likely one would be lucky to get a thin blanket and the floor...

So, you see, it isn't "what" your fantasy dreamed up...it may well be much more spartan than you bargained for...much more spartan indeed.

Sounds foolish to say this but, trust me...been there...done that...several times over...

Status: offline 		Thanks for your response slaveGalen. It's cool to note my naivete, I am new to this. Not new to bdsm but new to meeting people in RL (only been about 2 years) :)

It was my fault in the first post for not mentioning things like water, food, warmth, a bed, using the bathroom, being allowed to end if I really don't like it, etc. If any of these types of things were in the slightest question, I wouldn't get involved as it is simply not my kink.

My in on incarceration as such is the feeling of being held because she wants you there. It isn't about abject suffering in a cold tiny brick outbuilding, covered in my faeces and sores! I know this is what some folks like but it's not for me. I will thoroughly check it out first, like I'm sure I will be checked out to see if we click. If we get on and she likes me and wants to proceed, this for my mind would be enough to make it not feel like 'play acting'. I wouldn't actually have to be out of control. I appreciate I might be considered a bit of a lightweight in these matters and I'm not ashamed if I am hehe

I have had a little experience with this already and the Lady whom I've been lucky enough to play with has this ability to instantly fill the room with a feeling of safety and fun. What I'm trying to say is she very subtly makes it clear that it is no worries to finish, but also 'come on, try and be a little brave, it's not that bad now really is it'. I always choose option 2 because option 1 is also there.

All bondage to me ultimately has to be 'play acting'. We all let these things happen to us. If you haven't given your consent, then it's not bdsm.

So you see, it will be very close to how my fantasy dreamed it up or I won't get into it :-) I'm not going to turn up with no research whatsoever to some random lock up, with a person whom I'm not sure would have the common sense to know humans require water! That would be foolish!!

Some people would prefer to do this by a sunny beach on a luxurious sunlounger, being served perfect cocktails, but that's too kinky for me :P

Status: offline 		Some fantasies, a weekend is as much as I could enjoy them. I have some fantasies of heavy pet play. I know some people do it and enjoy it full time or close to it - I masturbate to that idea, but I wouldn't actually be interested in anything longer than a weekend, and then only with a person that I saw outside of that scenario, as well. Perhaps that is your feeling on incarceration?

Status: offline 		Hi tsatske, that's not far off where I'm at. A weekend would be about the limit, maybe a long weekend if you were uber comfy with the person you're playing with. I quite like the idea of being put to work, or to work for freedom lol. Have no idea how this would actually work out. Maybe clerical work on a computer or something. Not heavy labour though, I get that mon-fri lol

LW , maybe see if you can get your other half to combine cocktails with cage-time ?

Mistress kept me caged every night. It was a great experience, but it has to be one of those things where both of you are into it for the right reasons. Otherwise, it becomes a burden on the one doing the caging, or it becomes miserable for the one being caged.

Status: offline 		My Owner would put me in the closet in our bedroom. The longest was for 3 days...I think. I was pretty much in subspace the whole time. Deeper when he shut me in, and shallower when he pulled me out to use me. It was quite comfy, I had a foam mattress and a pillow, and a bucket to pee in. I had icewater in one thermos and tomato soup in another(tomato soup is my comfort food). If I had to empty my bowels I was allowed to do that in the ensuite bathroom. He had a security door fitted to the closet, with a grille...I could see out and get fresh air. More than a few tradesmen wondered why we had a security door on the closet! I slept a lot, and when I wasn't sleeping I was floating in subspace(or crying, depending on how he had used me).
I would agree to try just a few hours at first. Unless you know you like that sort of confinement, it can bring up some pretty ugly things when you're alone inside your head for that long.

uumm...you did notice I didn't say anything about being cramped into a tiny one with no room to move and no mention of pain, right?

I want a nice big cozy one with a blanket and pillow and my wireless internet laptop.
