Mom’s are always worried about their babies…so I figured I’d put a card in my wallet…just in case…ya know…I go to the “other side”…..

It says: “Mom…sorry…fucked up…truly, honest…won’t happen again…no really…honest”.

Then I added (hey…when you die, you gotta go for the laugh…it's not like you’re gonna get another chance or anything…I mean seriously…if you’re ever gonna get a better shot at a punch line…I’d think this would be the big one)…”it was quick Mom…’cept for that last 9 minutes when those ER guys kept trying to move my leg…FUCK that hurt!!!! Then there was that gurney shit…why the hell they need everything to line up with your spine…really someone oughta talk to these guys about that shit…every time they moved me to the left I thought I was gonna fucking gawdamn PUKE!!! Is that like some kind of policy thing?

*************************

Well…hopefully when I go, people smile for what I’m about to get (instead of what they think they lost).

Gotta laugh, ya know?

My father's family is big on keeping family secrets, journals, diaries, and other stuff passed down through the generations, most of which I have verified through checking public records and not so public records, and just basic foot work, including amateur geology.

Anyway I have a nice program on my system that will do a file dump with the family's genealogy, including the fact that two branches have intermarried over the generations, the location where an ancestor got silver to counterfeit silver dollars after the civil war, basically a step by step instruction manual to find where all the bodies are buried, since the family hit the mountains of western NC in 1698-1704 from Jamestown VA.

In other words, all the crap that will piss off the family who basically told me to hit the bricks after I beat the hell out of my father.

First he disowned me when I enlisted in the Army, and did not go to the Air Force academy, or any academy for that matter.

Second, he took all my tools from my shop when he left town, along with my pickup which he managed to file a lost title on it (I still have the original.)

Third, when my grandmother was very ill and in the hospital, I got emergency leave to visit her, he threw a punch when I entered the hospital room, so I basically returned the favor, only mine connected, repeatedly, along with a few tricks I learned in basic and ranger training.

He ended up in ER, hospital security escorted me out of the hospital after seeing the tape showing he threw the first punch, and the police called it a case of self defense.

My family said I had no respect for my father and told me never to come back.

His loss, he has not seen his grand kids or his great grand kids.

I pretty well made it on my own, and in many respects I have done better than he did.
