There is a male choir here in town that even when singing in Italian can make me teary. They could be singing about drinking and beating the wife (sort of like Italian country and western) but it sounds so beautiful

I get all emotional about certain Eric Clapton tunes and I get especially emotional when listening to a certain song by the Eagles as it fits me to a tee (even if I didn't go after some young guy)...."Lying Eyes"..even though I only left the relationship after 24 years....but it was the right thing for me to do.

I was in the Legion and some of Edith Piaf's songs do the same for me. she was the Legion's Sweetheart and she is still mine *smile*.....................funny thing; Emilly Loizeau's surname is a slight misspelling of the french word for 'bird' and Piaf's nickname was 'The Little Sparrow'

There is a hymn we sing in church that has a line about singing across the universe after the work of living is done - the first time I heard it, I had to leave the church because I was sobbing. It hasn't been all that long since my dad who loved to sing and my late dom who was a dj and loved music died, and every so often the grief escapes. Music seems to be a short cut to intense feelings.
