I've had several cats over the years that enjoyed intense spanking and cropping. One had very weak back/hips from age and arthritis; he liked severe, stingy beatings. I was worried about doing damage, so I took him to a vet and showed how hard I used a riding crop on him (cat). The vet just laughed and said it was probably therapeutic as a pain management technique and as long as the cat kept instigating it, I was doing more good than harm.
