http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Justice/2013/0829/Colorado-marijuana-law-Obama-administration-backs-off-video   It seem's the Federal government may leave State's alone that have legalized Recreational and Medical Marijuana. I hope this is true and not another bold face lie. I am glad to see time's changing. I use to live in Colorado growing up. I loved it out there. I can easily see myself moving there again at some point. I have alway's loved the beauty of the Rocky Mountain's. This stuff here is just an added bonus.

Under the new guidelines, the federal government's top investigative priorities include preventing the distribution of marijuana to minors; preventing sales revenue from going to criminal enterprises, gangs and cartels; preventing state-authorized marijuana activity from being used as a cover or pretext for the trafficking of other illegal drugs or other illegal activity; preventing violence and the use of firearms in the cultivation and distribution of marijuana; preventing the growing of marijuana on public lands; and preventing the diversion of marijuana outside of states where it is legal under state law.

I, of course, do not believe it for a second but if they actually did what that quote says I'd find that entirely wholesome, prudent, and a legitimate use of taxpayer dollars.

What makes this fun to watch (for an approved indulger in a sorta-legal state) is that it just isn't going to fit the standard partisan divide. The hippie liberals get split from the prison guard unions on one side, and the fundies get split from the libertarians on the other.

I think the fight is a long way from over.

I don't know kinkroids, if this gets out of hand, it could mean the downfall of western civilization. I mean think about it, doctors are prescribing morphine...er marijuana all over the place.

The US put 30,000 doctors in jail for prescribing morphine. Whew, good thing too...that was a close one.

To paraphrase: "In the sale and purchase of marijuana we are talking about a crime where neither participant...wants anybody to know." Milton Friedman.

I'm hoping it's taken a turn for the better, though...

I don't indulge, but I'm staunchly Libertarian, so I'm hoping the fight has taken a turn towards full legalization of marijuana.

I love libertarians that are ACTUALLY libertarian but haven't gone into the twilight zone of "no govt. regulation, no govt. anything, yada yada".

One of the things I noted with Ron Paul was his big libertarian spiel... all up until it came to a woman's very own uterus which was, apparently, not her own property. So much for property rights if you don't even own your own body.
