Probably went after his balls because competitors lobbied for it which happens a lot. Same thing happened to Urea-formaldehyde foam insulation. (UFFI) When properly installed there was no problem and in old brick & block homes, could reduce heating and air costs by 2/3. The fiberglass and spun-glass insulation (junk) competitors high lighted a few cases some of which were customers with allergies, then went national in a concerted campaign against UFFI, it made its way to the CPSC. Even Stewart Stadler (?) comm. at the time felt there would be and pushed for a Consumer Product Safety Standard lost that bid to other commissioners. This is America, always, always...follow the money.
