To a point I agree. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what is for dinner. At a certain point though, the will of the people should not be ignored. In other instances the good of the public should not be ignored. Where the issue comes in is when you try to play nanny to protect people from themselves. If you do it, it may or may not be right, but you will have to accept the consequences of that.
The political play in Missouri is interesting, as the Governor does seem to be trying to do the right thing, even if it hurts him politically. The state legislators seem to be wasting a lot of time and money just trying to piss in his punch bowl, but that is what happens when political cheer-leading is more important than trying to fix things. Maybe CO was influenced by this type of behavior, one way or another.

No they are not... Many times the popular view is dead wrong...as often in Missouri. They were elected on their views and they should continue to vote their views until they are voted out of office. Being elected is a popularity contest governing is not.
