Status: offline 		After Pearl Harbor, and after the military kicked them out, 16000 Japanese Americans volunteered to fight. 13000 In Europe and another 3000 in the Asian Pacific theater. 800 died in service to their country.

30 Muslim Americans died in the twin towers.

Thousands of Muslim Americans have served honorably in the US military since 9/11.

Muslim Americans have died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I mention this simply because today my facebook has been flooded with anti Muslim bullshit.

What is it going to take to practice the "all men are created equal" philosophy our founding fathers believed in?

You're never going to get everyone to identify as "citizens." In communities where everyone is the same religion and ethnicity, people identify by their district and look down on the people in the next district.

The problem is not difference, it's believing it's normal to hate difference. And it's not. Plenty of people welcome it.

But teaching people to hate another group is one of the oldest recorded routes to political power, and it still works just fine today.
