theshytype -> A warm up to needles (9/12/2013 8:08:42 PM)

I do not have much of a problem with needles. When I need blood work, I always have them try my right arm first (I'm left-handed) knowing full well that after several stabs, they'll have to move on to my left anyway. When I was younger, I often played with safety pins, sticking them in my skin and fastening them. And, even pierced my own belly button many years ago. So, not really afraid of needles. However, knowing myself, I'd have some trepidation going into my first scene with needles. I was curious, for those of you that do needle play, do you just get right down to it or have a "warm up" to relax them? For me, not sure which would be better. While the warm up would prolong my jitters and most likely not relax me, that prolonging may actually add to the overall experience. Just curious to others' preferences and experiences from both sides. What that warm up typically consists of, if any warm up at all. If none, why.
