I took these from flowers in my yard and in my neighbors yard.

Let me know what you think.

I like them, but I am biased.

I mean were they artistic did they make you want to see the plant for yourself, Do you think they'd be good enough for a photocontest  Do you see them and think how nice how neat or oooh or anything or is it like oh another flower shot how un original

stuff like that.

If you're referring to the photo of the yellow flower, it seemed out of focus to me. But, I think the composition would have been nice, if it had been in focus.

The one of the peaches lacked any kind of focal point or point of interest.

Are you thinking of entering a contest?

Yes I am. Vancuver. I don't know of any contest to enter yet but I am loooking about.

The lilly one was out of focus sadly but the link to the album was supposed to show other lilly pics that were infocus:P

I rather thought the peaches were artistic lol, but not everyone will agree and that is ok!

The second lily was nice... but lost in the sea of green behind it. Still, a pretty shot though.

I really like the yucca though. Very sharp contrasts between the plants.

And I agree with you about the peaches... that one did make me want to be able to move around the picture and see more.

LOVED the peach tree one, and would love to see more pictures of the tree, from different angles and in different kinds of lighting and contrast

Some nicely lit and colouful subjects.
Too bad about the background of the lily.
Try some variations of cropping/framing. It can really create a whole different feel to a pic.

The third link photo was really nice.  Its the one with all the green behind it,  a lavenderish type flower (lilly?) and those other 2 colorful (one reddish, one yellow, i think) plants.  Very sharp.  I like it alot.

If I were judging your lighting and angles of any one subject this
shot would of been your best over all.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b180/Loveforphotography/flowersetuponheartIlike.jpg

as for the flower shots this one seems to be the best to Me, a bit of lighting to the over all shot say by one degree and a bit of cropping away the less active items in the shot, taking away the yellows and reds and the bottom green action and it would be grand as a stand out lilly.

My father was a semi-professional nature photographer. He would say those are nice "record shots". The backgrounds take away from the photos and the lighting isn't contest worthy IMHO.  I don't want to discourage you, keep working on it.

Proud that one with the shitty back ground was messed up by it yes. NExt time I am going to try to find a creative way to exclude the back ground with out manipulating the pic digitally.
