Hello all, I am new to CM but have been in the lifestyle for a good minute or two.

I understand CM is more of a dating site, but I'm hoping mostly to make new friends and if something good develops I'll consider that if and when it happens, but I really don't have much desire to look for more slaves (have one with another in consideration phase), though I am a sucker for pretty little things that want to play at the dungeon.

I work out of a local dungeon pretty much every weekend and also do private sessions throughout the week and I'm hoping to expand my freindbase and get to know more local community kinksters that aren't on some other sites I frequent. If I get some good friends here I may stick around, but mostly I'm just checking the site out right now to see if it's worth the time :)

Welcome to the forums.

CM is not primarily dating although that is one feature they provide. The forums are where the community really interacts and exchanges ideas, helps new people, discusses everything from safety, to suspension, to word games and politics. In other words, this side of the site is what you make it.

I am curious to why you think that CM is a dating site?
I hear that a lot which I find funny because I know more folks on here who aren't seeking than I do who are. Lol

I figured it's not "just" a dating site, which is why I'm checking around.

Speaking as someone new with a fresh first impression... The notion of this I am willing to bet comes from it being framed on the web build out more like traditional dating sites and less like a social network, as well as the title "collar me" indicates that collaring someone is somewhat of a largely a main thrust of the site, whether one is to place the collar or have it placed upon them.

That and I know some domme friends that use this site and all they get all day long is constant subbies petitioning them for service, which is more or less how I found out about the place.

I do have a question in that I am not able to figure out how to view my profile... can someone point out how that might be possible here?

I have tried to edit but it keeps not saving the settings and says "create profile" which is confusing me slightly.

I'm curious as to just how much time you spend on the CollarMe side of things actually looking at profiles? Here on the CollarCHAT side of things I think you might be right...a high percentage of the people that frequent the message board side of things may not be looking for a partner, date, or what ever. But on the other side...the side where all the profiles are...if you take the time to randomly look at different profiles, I think you will find that a VERY high percentage (probably 90% plus...but that is just a guess) will have something other than "just friends" listed under the "Actively Seeking" heading. To me that makes it a dating site.

Hello and welcome to CM and the forums.....this side where all kinds of things are discussed. You are correct CM is the dating side where this side is for discussions. Maybe your Domme friend spends most of her time on the other side. Can't help you with your profile question sorry. Hope you stick around and join in on some of the discussions here. Nice to have you join us.

just type your nick in on the search user. or click on the gold nick in your posts. Thats you.

Click edit profile. On the top of that page, there is a View Profile button.
