6 dead so far, 30 injured in Canadian massacre. How was such a man allowed to have this kind of power over the lives of innocents? It is lunacy!

There are bus drivers that go thru yellow and even red lights here.. I ran into one tonight and she was a total bitch.. And the vehicles aren't maintained well so sometimes the stop bell system and read-a-board aren't working properly but the drivers don't give much of a dam if you end up having to walk several blocks extra cuz of that.. And they drive fast too, frequently missing people whizzing past them waiting for that bus.. Oddly, in one small city I was in the bus won't move until every passenger is seated... Here never.. And that goes for seniors with canes too.. Get into a seat fast or you could go flying..

About the only time I'll get on a bus is along the Strip in Vegas. I realize the drivers are subject to drug tests, but I also know how easy it is to beat one of those when you know it is coming. If this guy just went postal though, I don't see any difference between him, and the guy who went on a killing spree in the Navy Yard. It's the madness, not the tool of the madman.

I'm not sure if proud is the right word but you guys fight tooth and nail to prevent even common sense regulation and oversight so you do own every one of these. It also does not escape the notice of pretty much everyone not on the far right that your relentless assault on the social safety net has resulted in much less mental health care being available.

Sounds like an eye of the beholder thing to me, Ken. If there is agreement with the position being pushed, they are merely holding up the dead as tragic examples of how wrong everyone else is. If, however, the tragic events don't aid in pushing a worldview the reader likes, then they see it another way. The high horse ain't working. In fact, it looks like the ones in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Perhaps attempting to hijack the topic off into diesel vs. electric buses would be a better tactic?

No. Actually in threads about previous massacres posters have attacked the 9/11 planes passengers as cowards, suggested that pacifists at a play in a peace church should have been armed and numerous other insults of the dead and their beliefs. And of course we have this thread's OP.

For like the hundredth time this one was not in a gun free zone and it did not make a difference and quite possibly made it worse. If this guy was schizophrenic, which it certainly sounds like, then just having a waiting period to buy the shotgun would have stopped this. And no matter how much pro gunners bitch about it wouldn't a seven day wait for all guns make sense even if it only saves a few lives?
