It's Alaska. You will have snow until June.

Dude, it's burning up down here. Seriously! Sticky hot. Not as bad as summer time, but still hot.

Wikipedia says that's normal for your town. It also described something called the "Chinook wind" which sounds like fun
No wonder you're a sadist...

Edit: when I graduated from law school I applied to every law office and agency in Anchorage. A side effect of watching and loving Northern Exposure (didn't care that it was filmed in Washington, not Alaska). Right now, pretty glad that didn't work out for me!

Despite it recently being cold enough at night for me to need to cover my basil, my AC, which is set on 75 degrees, kicked in a few minutes ago.

didn't only just get rid of your snow? blimey I couldn't live there. the winters here are bad enough and feel like they go on forever. it's a good job there are people who can tough it out.

Yesterday, it was too hot and humid I would have traded you.
Then today was barely 70 and sunny. Perfect weather for me. So make sure that snow stays up there, please.

It's snowing.

There is a silver lining behind every cloud? Well, except those dark winter storm clouds. They have a grayish lining filled will snow, sleet, hail and freezing rain.

Make lemonade when you get lemons? Oh yeah, that's right. Lemons won't grow in cold climate.

Tomorrow is another day? So let's look at the Almanac and see what it says about your tomorrows:
Sep 23-30: Flurries, cold north; snowy periods, cold east-central and west-central; showers, seasonable south-central; rainy periods, cool Panhandle and Aleutians.
Oct 1-5: Snowy periods, mild north; snow showers, cold east-central and Panhandle; showers, mild elsewhere;
Oct 6-13: Flurries, mild, then cold north; snowy periods, cold east-central and west-central; heavy snow, then sunny, cold south-central; rainy periods, cool Panhandle and Aleutians;
Oct 14-15: Clear, cold north; snow showers, cold central; rainy periods, seasonable south;
Oct 16-21: Snowy periods, mild north, east-central and west-central; sunny, mild south-central; rainy periods, cool Panhandle; showers, seasonable Aleutians;
Oct 22-28: Snow showers, mild north and west-central; clear, cold east-central; rain and snow showers, then clear, mild south-central; rainy periods, cool Panhandle and Aleutians;
Oct 29-31: Snow, mild north; clear, mild east-central; clear, cold west-central; showers, mild elsewhere.

None of those seem very cheery. I guess the cold hard facts are that you will face a long snowy winter. You have my warmest wishes that your winter sports, both indoors and out, bring you pleasant distractions from all that snow.

I'm used to snow. My girl isn't. It should make our tentative plans to see the Northern Lights up in Whitehorse in Oct/Nov interesting.
