LOL, yeah, that first one will drive many republicans to Obamacare.

The second? Republicans are wanting into a womans vagina in the worst way, don't know why they dont like that one.

That is one creepy video.
And the production values are shit.
Do you have any evidence its Koch brothers?

Laugh out loud funny, and I LOVE the deeply creepy Uncle Sam mask! I may have found my Halloween costume.

That pesky free speech, though... It would be so much easier for the Democrats to do what is best for all of us, if only such messages were required to get a seal of approval or something, before they could be shown to the public.

Hey! Remember this classic?

(I had a little glitch getting the video to play. Please mention if anyone else encounters a similar problem)

The ads were produced by Generation Opportunity, a Koch-funded astroturf group.

Would have been so much funnier if Uncle Sam (very creepy looking, btw... much like the King from Burger King commercials, though in an intentionally more ominous way) had put a nitrile glove on one of those #1 foam fingers. That would have been hilarious.

$5 million

Which is the second sentence of the link I already posted.

The second video in the OP won't make any sense to women who regularly get GYN exams.

- A speculum is only a surprise if it's cold.
- High information voters will associate mandated vaginal exams with Republican legislature mandated vaginal probes in conjunction with getting an abortion.

I'm not sure the point is that a speculum will be used, but, that it's Uncle Sam doing the looking. That's the point of both commercials, and the reason for the "Don't let government play doctor" bit at the end of the commercials.

Oh, like we didn't catch that little bit of ignorant simpletonianism. But like kalik says, they have some unintended consequences in the womans video that is gonna shit their own bed.

It seemed Kali didn't interpret it that way, MN. I have fewer concerns with unintended consequences as long as they end up impacting future actions accordingly. If this really does hammer Republicans, hopefully future ads will be made with that in mind.

it is, though, regarless of how it SEEMS to you, that kalik interpreted the womens video exactly as I did, and said.

Unintended consequences, it will remind women that the nutsuckers are dishonestly projecting their blame for wanting legislate vaginas onto uncle sam. Which is not the case, it is only the nutsuckers wanna get in there, I expect to decieve the fact that they like the first video secretely, it excites them.

kalikshama -> RE: Koch Funded Anti-Obamacare Ads (9/20/2013 11:50:32 AM)

I had two thoughts:

1. Women who see their GYN and health care providers regularly know there are no surprise mandated GYN exams and so will not relate to the video. Hell, I'd be happy to get one out of the way and save myself a trip and an extra copay! In fact, I had GYN exams by regular doctors or NPs during the two years there were no VA GYNs in South Florida.

2. High information votes will be reminded that mandatory vaginal probes are a Republican initiative to make it more costly/difficult to get an abortion.

I do think the first video will be effective with certain male voters, however.

I did not see Kali use your nutsuckers word.

I didnt see her plagiarise my words either as I have seen others do so on this site.
