cloudboy -> Breaking Bad -- Granite State Rant (9/23/2013 8:38:10 PM)

There does not appear to be a group following the the current season that is about to conclude next week.

The episode last night, GRANITE STATE, I thought was absolutely insane and reflected the writers own desire to drop Walter White down the deepest, most ridiculous hole they could find.

How is it --- please explain it to me --- that Walter White with $11 Million Dollars in Cash -- gets relocated to rural, frigid, off-the-grid New Hampshire as his escape and new identity location? He has no TV, internet, or media access. He has no human contact. No plumbing or heating. Nothing. Yet, he has $11 Million Dollars.

This plot development made about as much sense as Jesse going insane with the sudden realization that WW poisoned the boy of his surrogate family.

I also don't like how the weight of the world is falling on Skyler when the State's Attorney really cannot build a case against her. Also, there's no way she'd only be represented by a deer-in-the-headlights public defender.

To me the writers of the show are on a mission, and they are stretching the story to make things break as badly as possible.

I'm sorry, WW would never relocate into the middle of nowhere and there's no reason for that either. With his money, he could successfully hide out virtually anywhere provided he disguised himself and kept a low profile.

I've read about five reviews of this episode, and I'm about the only person who thinks this way.....

Even more bizzare that Jessie gets caught in his escape attempt and his gf gets whacked. WW goes to town and should have known better than to use the phone. I think they could have the series going a bit longer. The way the story is going having to end so quickly with only 1 hour 15 minutes left, Walter is going down fast. A lot of talk about what that ricin is for that he retrieved in the flash forward, I think its to do himself in after he kills Todd and his uncle. I'm guessing he will rescue Jessie in the end. But over all I agree with your assessment, some of this shit just defies logic.

I think you are correct that the ending is forcing too much to happen too fast.

Last episode is tomorrow night. Is anyone engaged in a binge watching effort to catch up?

The BREAKING BAD finale was a five-star ***** episode, perfectly executed. I can only say: WOW.

I wasn't disappointed in the last episode at all, it was excellent though I still think they could have stretched the series out into another season or extended this one a bit more. I really enjoyed the scene with Elliot and his wife.

I disagree that it should have been extended into another season; the story had come to it's end.

It didn't have to. I can see a variety of ways they could have tweaked it into more. Once Hank figured things out though I guess you would be right. Even so they could have stretched into maybe 2 or3 more hours.
