Come on, admit it. Weird perversions are accepted on this site. OK, this is an extreme one, but I'm sure that people will rise to the challenge. They know that you're otherwise balanced.


Sometime yes but no longer on a regular basis. I got fed up with the constant spin and bullshit maybe a year ago.

It could be worse, I could read the Telegraph, or indeed, the Guardian.

The Mail is still capable of the odd newsworthy story, so is the Sun. The problem lies in the fact that over the years they have become prone to accepting spin as truth and not verifying the facts. I have to admit to enjoying the recent articles by McBride though.

credit where credit is due, Sun readers voted a few years ago to only have natural, not fake tits on page 3, which is nice, I guess

I prefer Sun readers to Mail readers, frankly. The Mail is just the News Of The World for people who don't want tits on page 3.

Status: offline 		Unfortunately old cheese, when I was in England I didn't bother to peruse a newspaper, you see; being a yank and everything, your newspapers are scribbled in English, a language we don't commonly understand over here.

Leads to great gobs of confusion, doughnut?

Yet. Every so often it gets an article that is well researched, and backed up with multiple sources.

Attacking the messanger instead of discrediting the article is what passes for brilliance here too often.

If the messenger is a well known liar and the person who post these lies has a habit of doing this why should any creedence be given?

You like huffington, new york times. I like the wall street journal and IBD.

Shouldn't matter. The article is the thing. And for the record, I went to school in England. I'm well aware of the proclivities of the varies rags.

And when they flat out make something up? Like the Daily Mail did with this IPCC report nonsense? Or the WSJ did when it claimed the government had no role in the creation of the internet? Or FNC on a daily basis? Or Breitbart's various carefully edited videos?

I blame the messenger if he tells me a lie. I blame the poster when they cite a known lie.

When an actual fact (because if is an actual fact, there isn't a need to spin it) Such as; the earth is relatively round, and spins without our slanted view of what that really means. . .

So, when an actual fact is presented, do let us know.

Here is spin, and fact:

Three scientists ride the train in the bar car from Glasgow to London.

While still in Scotland the first; an astronomer, seeing a sheep out the window exclaims, "Look, all the sheep in Scotland are black!"

The second, a mathematician, sipping his ice cold Jameson ponders and then adjures,
"There is one sheep in Scotland that is known to be black."

The third, a physicist, puffs rapidly upon his pipe for a moment, exhaling; and with a deep and weary sigh intones, "In Scotland there exists at least one sheep, of which one side appears to be black, when viewed from a moving train, at some distance."
