There are plenty of reasons but for me it's because I don't check Collarme daily (it just slips my mind), so off-site chatting works best for me. I'm still getting used to using Yahoo IM and being on it more, since I normally use Skype but don't feel comfortable giving that out until I know the other person well enough.
