Status: offline 		hi all - irish female subs are hard to find which is a great shame as many irish fems are superb subs and take to bdsm like a fish to water. I have found especially clerical type scenarios play well. If there are any irish fem subs there - what do u think?

Status: offline 		I'm obviously not am Irish submissive, but I must chime in. You have just declared that because a woman is Irish and submissive, she then MUST be a good submissive. This is just not true. Generalities are touchy things. For example, if I said: “Since all elephants are gray, then all gray things must be elephants.” Clearly that is an error since we can think of many things that are gray and NOT elephants. So, why would we say, “Since the Irish female submissives I have met/want are good, then all Irish female submissives are good.” You’re statement is only true until you find that ONE bad one, just as the statement about the elephants is true until you find one gray thing that’s not an elephant. And you WILL find that bad one, opening yourself up to just anyone who will respond.

If I were an Irish female submissive, I’d be offended that I, thinking myself a good submissive, am being lumped into a category with a lot of BAD submissives just because I’m Irish, female and submissive. It’s just as offensive to say that all Irish Male Dominants are assholes, because we know that they aren’t.

Some thoughtful and well-meant advice: The impression I get from your post is this: you are merely looking for Irish female submissives to contact you and you think you can entice them by complimenting them here. If you’re looking for specific submissives, fill out your profile and let it speak for itself. After reading it, I know nothing of your philosophy, habits, expectations, wants or needs. It doesn’t even state that you’re looking for Irish female submissives! If you’ll spend a few minutes on your profile, you’ll find that you’re responses will go up. If you spend a great deal of time on your profile, you’ll find that the number of crappy and insincere responses will go WAY down.

Status: offline 		I see you live in Dublin, therefore it would be logical to think that you might be seeking someone within a reasonable distance from your home. However, as Fire states, you have absolutely nothing in your profile to indicate anything about yourself or what you seek.
The question you posed in your OP could certainly be taken the wrong way. I will look at it from the other side, however, to be fair, and review this as the idea that you seek someone close to you which would mean someone living in Ireland already, and most probably an Irish born citizen.
That said, have you done a search, are there any local BDSM activities, groups in your area? You are in a well-populated city of a small country.

Status: offline 		I am also not an Irish sub so I can only speak from my own experiences. Obviously, blanket statements are almost always a mistake. But I will intepret your post as I think it was intended which is not as a blanket statement but just a topic for discussion where we make "generalizations" for something to talk about. For example, as wrong as they may be, we all make certain "generalizations" because we are human and we have a natural tendency to do so. For example, the stereotype of Irish liking their drink. The French at being romantic, etc. I think you get my point. With that in mind, I would suspect that Irish may not make particularly good submissives. Ireland being predominantly Catholic and we all know how repressive Catholics are (I'm Catholic so I speak from experience). Then again, who hasn't had the Catholic school girl fantasy in her cute school uniform?

Here's another generalization that seems to keep forming in my head... nurses appear to make exceptional submissives. I always thought this may be true since nurses usually have a caring personality with a tendency to nuture and please (Nurse Crachet from Cockoo's Nest being an exception!). All good characteristics of a good submissive!

sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time finding irish subs---perhaps they all migrated across the pond in search of intelligent Dom's?

but seriously, do u honestly think that being a "superb sub" is something that can be attributed to ethnicity or locale?

It certainly was not a personal ad - good grief i would have put in more detail if it had been that. The reason why irish subs are hard to find is that we live in a small country where it is hard to keep things private - believe me. Also a lot of irish women have the catholic stuff going on in their heads still. My post was meant in the light that is it hard for irish women to overcome their inhibitions to discover their sub side - or even their kinky sexual side. Irish women I thinks would have understood that.

I think that is an asset. They'll be familiar with reward for suffering and, if they were taught by nuns as I was, have knowledge of how some of the 'toys' like floggers and such are utilized.

beth is my Irish slave, although from the protestant or orange side of the battle. she is my first red head and living proof that where there is red on the head there is fire down below!

I am new to these boards and have been spending some time reading all of the past posts. They have given me some new ideas....some thoughts to ponder....and quite a few laughs. This particular post caught my eye as I am 100% Irish.....and was raised very strict Catholic to boot. I do understand where you were coming from. Once we overcome that whole Catholic thing though....we do just fine....even if it does come back to haunt us once in a while. If you are really creative you could just work it in.......Forgive me Father for I have sinned.......<weg>

Now i'm curious. Do you consider BDSM play a sin? Has anyone mentioned it in confession?

I have, and I still do. I still think of it as a sin (please don't flame me, this is just my personal opinion about myself) and as something that needs to be confessed.

By the way, if you think that Irish subs are the most submissive then you have never met someone like me

Noooooo i do not see it as sinful at all.....but i do know some Catholic subs (one does not need to be Irish) who have a lot of guilt and truly do feel that they are sinning. I was referring more to a confession type scene as i know some really get off on it. Heck i have this little Catholic school girl outfit that i just love....and was once asked if i would agree to kneel before my "priest" in a scene and confess my sins. Now that is just a bit farther than i'd care to take that one! Not to mention i think i would find it very difficult to say all those Hail Mary's through a ball gag! For me though bdsm play never brings on feelings of guilt.....why should i feel guilty?....after all, He made me do it....lol.

I think that it all depends on the person, I confess everything, down to the bug that I killed because it was flying around my room and I couldn't catch it and take it outside.
