The "persona" of a Dominatrix is of the epitome of female sexual power - and a person who is superior - in every way to poor "weak-willed" and "inferior men" ....
Someone who is truly master -- oops Mistress of her own destiny - ( of of other peoples ) - and "successful" in every way ...
Someone to whom "weak-willed and inferior men" will glady pay £130- per hour for the privilege of being pissed on - and worse...
Someone who enjoys a jet-set materialistic life, funded by "pay-pigs" and "human ATM's" ...
But what is the reality... ?
How many sessions can a Pro-Domme physically - and psychologically endure, week in, week out, month in, month out ..... year in... year out ..
Is it actually, that good a living .... ?
Or is it, at best, scratching a modest, sordid - and insecure existence..- with no holiday pay... no sick pay.. and no pension scheme ...
I await your insights... and comments with interest... :-)

I think it's like any other business. What you put in is what you get out. If you're not concerned about giving good service for the fees charged, then your customers will vote with their wallet.

Status: offline 		For the great majority of prodommes, the income is comparable to a part-time waitressing job, except you don't have to work as many hours a week. Enough for fun money, or groceries. Not enough to go to school, to buy a car, or to pay other "adult" bills. Ironic for someone working in the "adult industry."

It wasn't always this bad, but there was a crash around 2008, throughout the adult industry, and especially in Porn Valley, California. At this point, there are tons of young women trying to become "new talent," and much less work than there used to be. Also, the recent cases of porn HIV are all connected in some way to the Kink.com studios. Whether Kink.com is doing anything stupid, or it's just a coincidence, I have no idea, but that's likely to have a chilling effect on future fetish work.

So you end up having established stars like Jessica Bangkok doing Niteflirt phone sex and web camming, because there's so little film work. The "average" fetish provider gets squeezed on both ends: men have less money for luxuries because the economy sucks, and well known performers are doing personal sessions when they never used to.

There's even less money in niche fetish. A friend told me that she got $400 for appearing in a tickling video. That's jack shit -- spend it in a day, and your face will floating around the kinky internet for all eternity.

A lot of prodommes are moving into massage -- get a massage with traditional touch and flogging -- to attract vanillas.

Totally depends on how much time you invest in the business. If you see it as a full time job, work 40 hours a week (that doesn't mean you do 40 hours of flogging, because "work" also means the updating blogs, sorting advertising, doing accounts etc), giving a good professional service, and attract new and repeat clients alike, then your income after expenses could be very healthy. Or you could be doing 15 hours a week as a fun way to earn a bit of money without having to do the minimum wage slog. Or you could be doing an hour a month to earn a little extra towards a holiday or Xmas etc.

"with no holiday pay... no sick pay.. and no pension scheme" - which is every freelance and self employed person's reality anyway.

"sordid" - what's sordid about it?

But... just because some guy is willing to give you money to do stuff to them doesn't make you that.

If a strong-willed, superior man is willing to pay for a Domme, that says a lot of amazing things about her. If a weak-willed, inferior man is willing to do it, it only really says something about the man.

Honestly, a couple years ago, a Pro Domme who I have interacted with in the past, moved from NY to a town near me. She is not available for a relationship, and She wanted $300 per hour. LOL

Not worth it to me ... even though She is a drop dead, gorgeous, 40 something. Just sayin' ...

Red's point its comparable to a part time waitress job is accurate!

Status: offline 		There are a massive range, as a pro Domme is taken to mean anyone who charges for sessions, rather than anyone who makes their primary income from their work.

I take on a very small number of subs, as for me it's a way to fund my BDSM "hobby" and not the way I make my living. The hourly rate might seem steep, but so is the cost of good fetish equipment and clothing. I've spent far more than I've earned, but as I say I take on a very limited number of sub clients and spend a lot of time busy with my lifestyle slaves/subs/events.

For more full-time professionals, some definitely make a good living but will often be operating out of chambers with thousands upon thousands of pounds worth of equipment, so the hourly rate a sub pays certainly doesn't translate directly to profit.

Status: offline 		It all depends on what they are doing and how they are doing it. Like anything else in this world, there are different levels that demand different things.


For example, there are 'commercial' houses of domination, that can range from relatively cheap to really expensive. When I started in that world ages ago, there were low end houses (this was early 80's, NYC), that charged 60-70/hour. They had facilities,and they weren't bad, but they tended to operate on volume, they often hired young women who weren't that experienced and so forth....then it ranged up, there were upscale houses that were in the hundreds of dollars an hour session.

Then you have the independents, who operated their own place or rented space from commercial houses. Some of them did it out of their own place and weren't that well equipped, and they would tend to be cheaper, others had extensive equipment and such, would do a lot of things, and they could be out there, into the range of 500/hour (they had high end clientele, as you can imagine).

As someone said, it all depends, someone doing this as a hobby might not earn a lot, especially given the cost of equipment. In the houses, the amount the gals get out of the session matters, if I remember correctly it could be 40-50% of the session fee, so they could earn at a decent level house 75 or 100/hour. Thing is, though, they don't work 40 hour weeks and they only get paid if they have a client, but if they had let's say 10 clients a week, they were earning not too bad money, plus it also left them time to have another 'real job'.

The independent dommes can make a lot, but it is an expensive business,with equipment, outfits and so forth, and it takes a lot of time to build the business, and like everyone else, they are subject to the market, too, when the economy trashes, might be a lot harder to book 500 dollar sessions or even 250 ones, and they need to do a number of them to do well.

Anyway, that is what I know of it. Most of the dommes I know made decent money doing it, but also had other jobs, too, so it was more supplemental income then primary for them.
