This is not meant to be fastidious or snarky, The term lil one/little one has been used in some mail I've received. Now it could be meant affectionately as the mail was complimentary, Or was an inability to comprehending my profile, Lack of knowledge, and/or experience. I've noticed it tends to be older dom men say fiftyish in age, To me the term is related to daddy dom/baby girl dynamic or age play. What say you?

Lil one and Little one and Little to me has always been in relation to Age Play and Adult Babies. I think your gut is correctly interpreting it.

It COULD be a term of endearment/affection, but I think the above is more likely.

Have you asked them?

I get that from toppy types of all ages. I'm not into d/s and state as much on my profile. I find it condescending as all hell coming from a random internet stranger.

Even as a term of endearment I think it's extremely presumptuous when they're messaging a woman they don't know.

Agreed. I find it forward and presumptive, which equates to being rude in my book.

I can't speak for the doms approaching you, but not everyone using those terms means it as age play. I had no idea of the conotation when I chose my user name. It just seemed to fit me.

I've never seen the term lil one relegated only to age players. It tends to get used for various types on the s side of the kneel. It can be a term of affection, power imbalance, (which is exactly why somebody who doesn't know you shouldn't be so presumptuous as to use it) or even just stature. (Most female subs being smaller in size and/or height than male Doms.)

Basically, I'd see it as the same kind of faux pas as somebody calling Me "Mistress" without a qualifying name for those who identify as leather.

Without seeing the messages in question, I don't know for certain that ageplay is implied. I do agree that it is presumptuous as hell, though.

It isn't just presumptive but I see it as being condescending as well.
And anyone using a term of endearment on a stranger is just being way too familiar.

Disrespectful all the way around.

Agreed, I have been called little one as a term of endearment by someone I was in a relationship with and I was fine with it and the spirit in which it was used. However when some Dom on here calls me little one I feel like I am being spoken down to. They have no right to be using a term of endearment with me as they don't know me and I am not a child that should be called little one by random strangers.... Sorry thread hijacked. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

It's a fairly common phrase. I would read too much into it.

Oh, I agree. It's the other end of the scale from being called a "slut" on first contact.

They think it's ok to address a complete stranger as 'little one' and yet get their knickers in a knot when you respond and call them 'short arse'.

Some people and their double standards...

Would you be refering to the elevated altitude, or lack of, of the posterior appendage to their anatomy??

Vanilla sites are just as bad, terminology just different. I hate being called darling, etc by someone I don't know.

I know there are men that aren't idiots. unfortunately most are idiots lol
