I have a beautiful Irish sweater (Siochain) bought it in Ireland in 2000 and it feels "shrunk" even though I wash it in cold water with woolite.
Is there any way to "un-shrink" a woolen sweater?

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll try one of those reshaping articles.

Try wetting it and pinning it out on a sheet covered rug, stretching it as you go. It will stay the size it dries so if you stretch it it will stay that way.

This is what you should do. In knitting it's called "blocking" and needs to be done with most hand-knit pieces. Be careful using regular straight pins because they will rust. There are blocking pins that won't rust. As long as you don't keep the pins in the sweater for too long you should be fine.

Wash it. Then let it dry on a random, naked fat person.

Pardon me for possibly stating the obvious, but I just wanted to make sure you were not drying it in the dryer.

Expect the hand stretching to take a long time. You don't want it stretched out on the edges and tight in the middle. You need to make sure that it's getting even pressure all over.

This is the easiest as there are naked fat people all over the place.
