The Most Irresponsible Officials In Washington DC Are The 'Moderate' Republicans

The most dangerous group in Congress is moderate Republicans, many from the northeast, who could reopen the government and break extremists' grip on their caucus' agenda, but choose not to.

According to the Washington Post, 21 House Republicans say they are prepared to vote for a "clean" continuing resolution to reopen the government. Together with Democrats, this is enough votes to pass the bill that has already passed the Senate, reopen the government, and stop the madness.

Yet these Republicans who publicly say they favor a clean CR have repeatedly voted with their extremist colleagues to prevent it from coming to a vote.

If moderate House Republicans don't want a government shutdown and favor a clean CR, why have they passed up on ways to end the shutdown?

Business Insider, via Yahoo Finance, goes on to identify three ways in which moderate Republicans, working with Democrats, could end the shutdown showdown. Might this happen? Thoughts?

Nobody cares... Those who support the D's are going to blame the R's... Those who support the R's are going to blame the D's... The media is going to side with the D's and paint the R's as the most evil human beings under the sun... And in the end, we the people get fucked by both sides who sold out to their political donors.

The moderate Republicans are likely from the most competitive districts so by running scared from the mere threat of a primary opponent from the right they are harming the nation and giving a Democratic opponent plenty of ammunition for 2014.

If these guys were smart they'd get on board with the discharge petition and force Boehner's hand. They'd be heroes with the big GOP donors, Boehner would love them for giving him an out and they'd shore up their chances in the 2014 general.

But what the fuck am I doing giving advice to these clowns. Stay strong douches! Keep the shutdown going till Boehner gets a real tan.

Another stupid attempt by so-called moderate Republicans to distinguish themselves from their own party in ways that don't fucking matter, because they still vote with the pack.

"Moderate Republican" = bloody oxymoron that......
