Interesting article. Conservatives have long scorned the awarding of a Nobel t Obama for having been elected President and not being Bush. Liberals have assailed it for awarding it to Henry Kissinger, who masterminded the Vietnam war that killed thousands.
But there's no question in my mind that a teenaged Muslim kid who stood up to the Taliban and was made a martyr for it, who proclaimed a right to education even as kinds in developed countries disparage it, who represents a symbol against the worst of the Arabic world, was the more-than-obvious choice.
Hopefully, there will be a new selection criterion than having the existing committee (which I have no doubt are handsomely paid for their weird choices) make the pick.
