It does not have to be but can be...which, like many other things, is what people should be aware of. What I find amusing about this thread is how much shit I catch if (gods forbid) I bring up something like gun play, knife play, blood play, auto erotic asphyxiation, etc. As if one form of "play" is fine because the best of intentions are meant and the other is bad because it is dangerous. For the record a person kept in total darkness for four days can go blind and never regain their sight and a glock9 doesn't have a safety....yet I'm bad(?) because pointing a gun at someone could kill them but melting their brain is just fine (and yes I am laughing as I type this) Anyone that wants to play short term gimp for games is great by me. I do suggest those that play long term take a great deal of time finding out what happens when a person can't hear, see, move, ect.

Some aspects of what some of us do are much more dangerous than others. And, as in many things, knowledge is key. A Glock doesn't have a manual safety. There are redundant safeties built into the gun, but they are all passive. They don't protect against being careless or stupid. Tell us again about how long you think it takes to melt someone's brain by making them into a gimp. And then tell us how long it takes a chambered round to detonate, exit the muzzle, and enter your (now) victim's skull. The timeframes (and, hence, margin for correction after error) are much, much, different. And that's why I'll continue to say that using a loaded gun for anything other than putting holes (sometimes big, nasty, fatal, holes) in things is stupid.

I am told I am a gimp and I have no problem with all these activities however extreme. To me that is simply what I deserve and accidents are just accidents. I am a real risk taker. That does not stop me. For my part the one in control is the only one with the pleasures. Fear, pain, isolation, this is the purpose I submit. If the controller enjoys what they do, everything is in sync. I give complete trust for my entire life. And it is not anything of trust in a relationship. It is the willingness for submission even if they are completely strangers. That is my place in my life.

I think the difference is the individuals mainly posting in this thread, I know quite a few of us are edge players, which changes the entire tenor of the situation, versus some other threads where I mention breath play and blood play and I get scolded. It's all who you are around. I would never never ever scold you on gun play, knife play, breath play, hell I do all but the first myself. That said, I get pissed whenever anyone gets their panties in a knot over edge play in a BDSM setting. Especially since edge play for me is the heart and soul of what I do.

Yeah-you'll never see me knocking people for doing out there shit...provided (You know there's always a catch) they are informed,educated (Not book wise but actually have a clue what they are doing and the risks involved) danger aware, rational people who've made sound decisions based on all relevant available information. I mean fuck-I do extreme skiing. When I was a kid I did full contact fighting.I raced cars. Tell you again? Show me where I ever told you the first time. In fact show me where I said not to do this sort of "play" at all. What I said and will continue to say is that people should spend a great deal of time finding out what can happen and then finding out how to deal with it. Nothing protects someone from being careless or stupid....congrats you want a cookie because that works both ways. You are correct in the thought that if I put a bullet in someone nothing will stop them from being wounded(maybe even killed) It is also true that if someone is left in bondage for to long, in sensory dep. for to long, blindfolded for to long that they will be wounded(maybe even left mentally dead) And thank you for sharing your opinion on my dangerous form of play. I was not aware that what really makes a difference in the matter is how quickly damage can happen but I promise that if I ever decide to be "stupid" and shoot someone I will shot them in the foot so they bleed out slower.

If you feel as if I was scolding you for anything please take a well meant apology. That really was not my intention. I too am an edge player and though from what I have seen I would not want to see this done to a person long term if they choose to have it done it is not my body, my brain, or my life so it is not for me to judge.

My warnings may have been taken the wrong way in this thread but they really were not meant any differently than they would have been if someone asked about breath play and I told them to make damn sure they are good at CPR before they go putting their hands around someone's throat. After all the rule of four is the rule of four and it always will be.
