I find even the smallest of plugs can hurt going in, which is caused by my body tensing. When I am very excited and the clit is being played with, I find with a good lube and being on my knees with my legs spread and my body lowered to the floor insertion is much easier. It also helps in the direction of his penis or plug which also can be a factor for me if it goes in not following the curve of the anal canal. It might be helpful also if you tightened up on his penis or plug when you feel slight pain as the body will pull it in more each time you release the hold at least for me it works that way :).
Good luck however works for you, such great pleasures can be had from anal sex.
