LadySonelle -> MANY Different Orientations: 1 Person! (11/17/2004 3:15:49 PM)

I was just chatting with a very good friend of MIne, also a Dom, and we got onto the subject of orientation. He said that IRL, he's bi and somewhat dom. In SM he is switch (mostly Dom, and gay. We started discussing that.

It is, indeed possible to have as many as four or five orientations, I think. IRL, I'm Lesbian In My own head, in fantasy and in interactive fantasy with my partner, I'm a Gay male! In BDSM I'm almost completely heterosexual, preferring to top men. On the telephone (I do sex work) I'm bisexual!

These are not poses. They are what I want, how I'm wired. I was, IrL married to a man for a while. It simply did not work out. There was *no* sexual attraction at all. And yet, when I have a ricing crop in My hand, the fellow trussed up before Me is the sexiest thing in the whole world! I am now in a 20 year relationship with a beautiful woman and happy as seven clams! And, of course, as anyone who has checked out My site knows, I do crossdress as a male from time to time. Oh, and in fantasy, when I'm a male, I'm *submissive*! Go figure!

Anyone else have multiple orientations? :)

We read an article in my Women's Studies class this quarter you might like. It deals with exactly this.

It's called "Leatherdyke Boys and Their Daddies: How to Have Sex Without Men or Women" and is by C. Jacob Hale.

It talks about (among other things) individuals who have multiple sexual orientations and mulitple genders which they innact. Good read, and interesting.

Yes! Check out Native American berdache. "Two Spirit People" is an interesting book.

I've started getting interested in gender orientation recently with the discovery that crossdressing a man is actually fun. I'd had some preconceived notions about it I had to shed before I was able to realize that .. gee.. I had a human size barbie doll to play with [:D] I had some mixed up notion in my head that if a man crossdressed it made him less of a man. Do not worry folks, I've corrected that screwed up notion on my part. I realized that our minds are where our gender lives, rather than in our sex organs. A man can put on women's clothes and enjoy it and still be totally male.

Thank you Lady Sonelle for sharing a bit of your inner state with us. It got me thinking more and the book proposed by perverseangelic (thank you also) seems like just the place I want to explore.
