My humble opinion is no... In three months when we`re back to "negotiations"...after all the harm that the geopee caused in jobs lost, money wasted and Americans suffering, I don`t think they`ll have the guts. Yes there are a few loony-tunes suggesting we should default on principle and how awesome it would be....but they`re from butt-fuckville and don`t matter anymore.... Not saying we won`t hear them saying crazy shit or embarrassing themselves.....they just won`t be in a position to drag us all into the gutter with them... But for a short while there.....the tea-baggers did have their mitts on the levers of power and now we know how bad an idea that was....

I'm afraid you're a bit optimistic there, Owner. These people are not motivated by anything we would consider 'sanity' - and their next debt ceiling debacle will come too soon after this debacle to be absorbed by the TPs. After they lose their shorts in the midterms - maybe. But for now, any common sense which flies over their heads will be overruled by their rage and frustration. January is going to be difficult at best. One good thing though: it will reduce the gap between their antics and the next election, so the event won't fade so badly in the electorate's minds. Why blame Sanity, he hasnt posted for ages....... [:D] My opinion is that the centre leaning Republicans would be desperate stop it happening again. Republicans could end up with so much infighting they make themselves unelectable. BOTH major parties in the UK have done this during the last 40 years.

They can't even threaten it, knowing that Obama will call their bluff, and at the end of the day since they're just a bunch of nuts, it IS just a bluff and Pelosi's holding Boehner's leash ensures that the Democrats and sane Republicans aren't going to indulge the wackos anymore. They had their chance, and no-one but Fox gives a damn about what they have to say.

Of course they will. Their goal is not to win the Presidency in 2016, but to take over the GOP. To do that will require frequent battles, followed by claiming that the moderates aren't True Republicans and that they lack the will to fight. Whipping up their base into a frenzy will result in donors having to choose one camp over the other. Which cam they choose will determine which camp will survive.

Pointing out the maleficence and treachery of your party isn`t anger......it`s just reading the news..... The only reason it seems constant is for the fact that your party is constantly attacking , degrading and undermining our country....
