Hello Everyone,

I'm going though a rigorous training program with one of my slaves and am looking to compile an acceptable list of Reading Material and Movie Material for his directed alone time.

I am having difficulty finding an exhaustive list online or elsewhere with appropriate material. The movies and books don't need to be only about the BDSM lifestyle, but I want to ensure that the list I create and compile is filled only with material that will encourage a view of the world that is female leadership oriented. Movies and books with strong female leads, those that have a goddess based religion, those with more women than men, and of course, femdom material of any sort.

Anyone have any suggestions to share?

You'll probably be interested in movies that pass the Bechdel Test, which is intended to select movies where female characters are defined by themselves, not by the male characters (more or less). It's controversial, and doesn't catch everything, but it will provide you a decent starting place.

Thank you for the link, I am not exactly surprised, but am a bit horrified to see how few movies pass the test. It is a good starting place.

Make a list of all the books you have read that you feel might be helpful and give it to him.

The Bechdel test is a good starting point. However, I've found some fiction doesn't pass the test and still has femdom qualities. For example, I read two urban fantasy series by Laurell K. Hamilton, the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry novels. Neither of these series would pass the Bechdel test because the main characters' life circumstances make having female friends difficult, if not impossible. However, Merry is a princess and heir to the throne and Anita is a U.S. Marshall and the leader or a high-ranking member of several groups. There's no question that they are dominant women. I'm sure there are plenty of other books and movies that don't pass the Bechdel test but would work for your purposes.

OP,
I'm a male sub, and I'd like to provide assistance, but I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish. Can you share more of your ultimate goal here?

For example, most "femdom" porn is not particularly realistic. Many Dommes think that watching it puts thoughts into male subs' minds that then can take years to erase. So I'd be very careful recommending ANY BDSM/femdom videos.

What aspects of female leadership do you want him to see? For example, would watching the old Wonder Woman TV series suffice? It has a female lead. She's actually a goddess, and she lives on an island of immortan Amazons. It sounds like that would meet your criteria, but I'm not sure what he'll learn from it exactly.

I hope my response doesn't come off as snarky or disrespectful, because I really don't mean for it to be that. But I am a firm believer that first you have to have a specific end result in mind, and then you can create a specific plan. If you don't have a specific destination, then any old stroll through the woods will do.

Perhaps you might ask him to watch a random non-BDSM movie, and then make note of the parts of the movie in which males behaved in ways that would please you, and also write down the parts where males behaved in ways that would NOT please you. Since the movies are not BDSM related, the situations will probably be much more realistic, and therefore, the learnings will be more applicable to your real lives.

I don't mean to hijack your training plan, but I thought I'd offer those suggestions. It just seemed like tightening up the objectives of your assignment will increase the odds of success. Or as they say in the computer programming world; garbage in, garbage out.

Great post Rochsub2009. I agree on the porn issue. I once had submissive watch the Lara Croft Tomb Raider movies and write me an essay on women are bada$$.

I recommend:

New York Times business section (Friday's are always excellent).

WSJ of course....obvious.

Baron's....great cartoons....the stock spreadsheets are boring though. Perp walks are always fun.

Anything with pictures of Pamela Anderson.
