"Unconditional Love" is suitable only for infants, the dying, and Jesus.

Sane adults will want some conditions.

I blame Oprah for enshrining this emotional unicorn in the public consciousness, but that's just down to laziness, I'm sure.

A prospective partner who talked about unconditional love would promptly be shown the door. Just too drama-queeny to endure past a single cocktail.

That's changing the original quote. Which prudently specified a good family while not defining what the characteristics of a good family are.

Needing to set boundaries and consequences does not mean you do not still love them unconditionally. Emotions are one thing, actions are another.

When my son was at his most out of control I gave him a couple of options if he wanted to stay here. Although I frequently disliked him on a day to day level, I never stopped loving him.

You seem to think that loving is the same as enabling. Indeed, frequently the most loving thing you can do for someone is not enabling them.

With this, I will leave you with #13.....

13. Always remember that you are not required to keep toxic people in your life.

Unless they pay your rent, or you married them for money and signed a savage pre-nup.

14: The less talent an artiste has, the more they say "Money isn't everything" in regard to evaluation.

15: The crappier the chocolate, the more wild and garish and shiny the wrapping will be (this applies to wack-job political parties as well)

16: he less apt and more self-worshipping the non-commercial radio-personality is, while pretending to be 'humanist', the more they'll have their mouth near the mic, turned down on the gate and pick-up so their pie-hole can be almost eating the mic and you can hear every droplet of saliva sliming and clacking around their tongue and teeth and sides of their inner cheek. Unlike the host of This American Life, worshipped by aformentioned dingleberries, who lectures these dingleberries on mic behavior everytime he encounters them.

1) The lower a person's education level, the faster they resort to insults in an argument rather than facts to back up their claim.

2) A good family practices unconditional love, even tough love, but never turns their backs on blood.

3) Sometimes the best family you have are not related by blood, marriage, or adoption.

4) There is a sucker born every minute, and the internet allows them to post the most outrageous, stupid and insane things as facts, baring proof to the contrary.

5) The worst thing that has happened to the human race is the simple fact we evolved to the point that natural selection is no longer a factor in species development.

6) If you believe that Facebook is banning a picture of the nativity scene because it violates their guidelines, I have land for sale that includes a written promise from god that if you are living there when Armageddon happens, you will be spared and go directly to heaven. The promise is signed by God.

Love it :)

17) A woman's sense of timing is different, if she says give me a minute, you can figure 25 minutes to an hour to wait. If she says "15 more minutes" you have time to watch the ball game and post game shows.

DesFIP -> RE: Universal truths (11/5/2013 7:06:57 AM)

Anybody who goes by football time, knows she still has time to shower and change clothes before the two minutes is up.

-Bacon goes with everything.
-You don't really know a person, until you see them try to wrestle with the rules of Dungeons and Dragons, or during a discussion about Star Wars.

I disagree. The evidence suggests that natural selection is still playing an important role in cleaning the gene pool.

agreed, and most often you smell the patchoulie oil and hear the raspy labia of Germaine Greer rubbing together as she struggles for her next gig, as you read their outrageous blah-blah.

How do you know they're rapsy?

Obviously they don't like Rothlisberger (sp).
Try them with another team's.

On this theme, my daughter's last show horse announced he was tired of showing by getting hold of her show shirt and burying it in his manure. No harm done, just took me days to get it clean. He knew when it was the last class of the day and he didn't like them.
